“Yeah, baby, I knew, and I was so fucking happy when she told me. You’ve been on my mind for years, and when she gave me the news, I couldn’t wait to have you with me and inmybed.”
“Natalie setusup?”
An angry glint came to his eye. “Yeah, the bitch did, and she’s in lockdown right now because I didn’t want to deal with her. I wanted to find you. Unfortunately, you’re too smart for your own good.” His face changed at the last words, and a smirk played, then it turned serious. “Killed me deep in my soul that I couldn’t find you. It was a pain I never want to live throughagain.”
My head fell to his chest. “I’m sostupid.”
Luca kissed my hair and pulled me into his arms. “No, baby. Damn, I can smell you went through heat. I’m just so damn sorry you had to go through thatalone.”
“I was so mad at you. So hurt.” Tears welled in my eyes as the last few days came crashing around me. All the pain and devastation flooded me, and I felt my knees give out. Luca held me strong, letting me cryitout.
“I know. I hate that you were locked in this room, dealing with that and heat. It’s why I wanted you in my bed early, so I could have eased your pain during the time. That didn’t work out, it seems.” He rubbed small circles on my back,comfortingme.
“I’m in love with you,” I saidsoftly.
“Good, because I love you, too.” He pulled me away then kissed me furiously, but with a passion that he’d been holding back on me. This was almost sweet inaway.
He walked us back to the bed, the back of my knees hitting it. We laid down, still kissing, still connected. My heart fluttered and swam, feeling so much atonetime.
This time, he took his time. He stripped my shirt, then kissed every part of my exposed flesh, sending prickles along my skin. He removed my bra, then spent time on my breasts and nipples, sucking them into his mouth, then tugging them with his teeth. My body reacted, arching into his touch and following him when he left me even for brief periods of time when he stripped my pants, kissed down my legs, andmycore.
Turned on wasn’t even it. I was beyond that needing to be filledwithhim.
“Baby, please,” I groaned as his head popped up, eyes intense andknowing.
Luca pulled away, stripping his clothes before climbing back on top of me, then sliding inside of me. I tried to arch, but with his weight, I didn’tgetfar.
Luca laced our fingers together and rested them on either side of my head, his eyes connected to mine, burning into me so profoundly it wrapped around my soul, clicking our connection in place for alleternity.
As he made love to me, never taking his eyes off me, it was the single greatest experience of my life. When we came, we did it together, onlysolidifyingit.

Entering the pack house,it felt like the first time with all eyes on me, except there was deep concern this time, and it was aimed at both Luca and myself. I’d probably worried them with my disappearing act. Guilt slammed into me at thethought.
I gave a soft wave. “Hey.Sorry,guys.”
Jonas came up and wrapped his arms around me. Luca growled, and hesteppedback.
“So damn happyyou’reback.”
“Thanks.”
“I smell it,” Jonas said with pride. “It’s stronger thanbefore.”
I looked up to Luca who had a wide, happy smile. “Yeah, she’s never leavingagain.”
Contentment filled me like noother.
“What are we doing withNatalie?”
At the mention of her name, my mood instantly changed, and my wolf wanted to get out, wanted to attack and protect whatwashers.
Luca firmly wrapped his arm around me, sensing my struggle, another thing I’d come to learn about mates—being able to channel theirfeelings.
“I want to talk to her,” Ideclared.
Jonas nodded, obviously understandingmytone.
