Hever nodded.“They have left the guesthouse.Aunt Salmet has offered you a space in the formal gardens, and Techor is going to come and sign off on your wedding. It is going to be a bit bigger than originally planned, but you don’t have to do anything.Just have breakfast, pose for Khasta, and enjoy your day.”

“Hmm.”She carefully selected some granola snacks with her gilded nails. It had been the first treatment after her shower.“This smacks of Worro plotting.”

Khassi grinned.“He was always sneaky.”

Keera cocked her head.“Yeah.I do remember that.Gentle direction got me where he wanted me, more times than not.”

Khasta laughed.“Oh, your face when you figured that out. He’s going to love it.”

Veradil came in and gasped.“Oh, Keera. You are gorgeous.”

“Thanks.This shit is heavy.”

Khassi laughed.“Yeah, it is.Okay, someone bring a tray, and we will take some outdoor shots so Khasta can make some money on this.”

Cloud stood up and grinned.“I get to give you away, so Khassi made a dress for me.Yahtana will stand up with you with Hever.”

They walked outside, and a standing skimmer was waiting.Khasta took them to the trees at the edge of the property, and Keera sat, stood, and touched trees and flowers at command.

She did a lot of over-the-shoulder poses that highlighted all the detail Khassi put into the back of the dress.

She didn’t know how long they were there, but when Khassi lowered her camera and said, “It’s time,” Keera’s stomach fluttered.

They got back onto the standing skimmer, with Hever in her maid of honour’s gown, and Yahtana was walking with elongated legs next to them. They went to the gate that connected to the prefect’s yard, and Keera stared at the full chairs with people from her past and present.

Wellin was standing in a Sethir-style suit at the edge of the gold runner.Yahtana and then Hever got bouquets from somewhere and walked up the runner to a soft violin.

Cloud removed her cloak, and her dark gold gown was lovely and flattering to her bump.A bridal bouquet appeared, and she wrapped her arm in Clouds’, holding the bouquet, and her other hand held Wellin’s.They all walked slowly together, her siblings moving with her.

Her parents were sitting up front, and they were tearing up.Techor was in Hyreno formal, and his consortium was sitting in the crowd.

Keera took it all in while looking at Worro, and he was staring back at her, his eyes filled with wonder.

She kissed Wellin, hugged Cloud, and they both sat near her.Yahtana and Hever were next to her.Hever took her bouquet, and she and Worro faced each other, her hands in his.

The vows went by in a blur. They turned to sign the wedding contract; Keera read it and made a few notes after scribbling one part out.Worro was laughing. He nodded, made a note of his own, and she smiled and signed. He did the same, and Techor looked at their changes and laughed.

Smiling, they said their vows.Worro’s were flowery and graceful, but Keera just looked at him with a smile.“I choose you.It has always been you. When I was happy, I wanted you to share it.When I was sad, I wanted you to hold me.When I was furious, I wanted you at my side, and when I remembered, I wanted you with me.That was a lot of want. So, Worro, I choose you as I always have and will continue to as our lives turn to one.”

He was blinking tears away, and she wrinkled her nose.“Come here, husband.”

Techor laughed and stepped to the side as they kissed.Khasta got the shots, and when Worro lifted her and they spun around, the crowd cheered and applauded.

Rings were exchanged, and she had no idea where Hever got it, but she had it, and it fit Worro’s finger securely. Then, they kissed again, and the men standing with Worro walked down the aisle next to Hever and Yahtana.

A cocktail buffet was set up, and Khasta bullied them into more photos while family lined up to take pictures.

When Worro’s parents walked up, Keera froze.

His mother saw her expression and rushed to say, “We didn’t know.We have been with psychics and checked. We were not influenced. We just listened to some points she made, but now, seeing you two together, we understand how much we have lost since Vaika had them remove you from Worro’s mind.It was her urging that had it done.”

Worro sighed.“I didn’t want to tell you today, but yes, she had interacted with Heraina’s grandmother and considered the tremendous power that you wielded made you a monster. It was an easy poison to spill.Heraina and Misker were both her victims.”

“Who thought Heraina and I would have so much in common?”She smiled.“Right, so you want pictures with Worro.”She stepped to the side.

His father said, “We had hoped to get pictures with the happy couple.”

Worro reached for her and pulled her back to his side.“Come on, sparkly one.”
