I blow out a breath. Who knows where I stand with him?
As if he knew I was thinking about him, he appears behind me. “Bailey.”
I spin in my chair and smile. “Hi.”
“Can I have a word?”
I nod and follow him into his office. He is staring out of the window when I enter. His preferred place in a room, I note.
“Close the door.”
I do as he asks.
“Tonight, we are taking you back to the Rabbit Hole club,” he says, getting right down to it. “Inside those walls, things happen, Bailey. I want to do things to you, and I want you to allow me to push your boundaries. This is the only way I can be with you for now. Think of a word that is meaningful to you to use as a safe word if things reach a point where you cannot take anymore. If you say it, I will stop.”
“What do you mean, things?” I murmur.
“You will see later. I can’t touch you yet, but I can bring intense pleasure to your body, Bailey. I need to do this for myself as well as for you.”
“Can’t we do it at home?”
“No. We need a controlled environment.”
I gulp at that. What is he planning on doing to me? Setting me on fire?
“A meaningful word, Bailey. Let me know when we arrive, okay?”
“Okay,” I mutter.
“That’s all.”
I back out, wondering where the Finn went from last night. I guess he needs to get used to that part of him being revealed after so long.
A shiver of anticipation rushes down my spine, making my hands sweaty and sticky. Instead of going to my desk, I head for the ladies’ room to wash my hands and calm my breathing before I return to my desk.
As luck would have it, I run into Trish.
Too late to walk back out without her seeing me, I grit my teeth and stand next to her at the washbasins.
“Oh, look. If it isn’tAlice.”
Her mocking tone hits my temper button, but I don’t say anything. I want to correct her and say I’m the Queen, but I don’t even know what that means, really. So I stay silent, which she takes as a victory.
“I knew you got that job by sleeping with Archer. Probably how you got Alice as well. You’re such a slut under that pathetic innocent exterior, aren’t you?”
I finish washing my hands and dry them, listening to the air dryer blowing up a storm before I turn to her and give her a level gaze.
Her vicious sneer makes me want to hurt her, but I don’t even know how to do that. “Actually, I’ve been in this job for several days now, and I only fucked Archer this morning. He came inside my pussy so hard, it’s still dripping out of me. So, no, Trish. I didn’t get that job by sleeping with him, but I am now, so watch your fucking back. I’m done taking shit from you.”
Her mouth drops open as she clearly wasn’t expecting that. But then bullies never do. They can dish it out, but when it comes back on them, they haven’t got the faintest idea what to do or say.
“Bitch,” she hisses. “You can’t threaten me.”
“But I just did. And if you think Archer won’t back me up, you are dead wrong. Also, just so you know, I have Owen in my bed as well, so you lose, bitch. Now stay the fuck away from me.”
I turn my back as she hisses. “I’ll fucking rip everything away from you, Bailey. You came after the wrong woman.”
“Try it,” I taunt, and shove open the door, my hands shaking as I walk slowly back to my desk, feeling lightheaded after the confrontation. But no way was I standing there listening to her slice into me. Cowards don’t get power. They get trodden on and bullied.
