A key turns in the lock and in my newly woken state, I’m too slow to move and when the door opens, I’m pushed along the carpet by a man with great strength behind the door.
“Eek!” I squeal as my fingers get trapped underneath and stop the progress.
“Shit! Faith!” Sebastian exclaims, crouching down and peering around the half-cracked door.
“Oww,” I murmur and carefully pull my fingers back.
“What on earth are you doing on the floor?”
“I was sleeping with Xander,” I mutter, blowing on my fingers.
Sebastian takes them and blows on them for me, kissing my fingertips. He looks back over his shoulder. “Xander isn’t here.”
“Oh,” I say, disappointed he left me.
“I’m here,” he says a moment later, the smell of coffee and toast filling my nostrils.
My stomach lets out a loud, embarrassing growl, which Sebastian does his best to ignore, but I can see by his lips that he is trying not to smile.
He helps me up and I let him without any fuss. He leads me over to the bed and settles me in the cosy warmth. I forget my sore fingers and reach for the coffee, taking a big gulp before I chomp down on the toast, finishing it in four bites.
“More?” I mumble indelicately, putting my hand up in front of my mouth so I don’t spray the hot, sexy alphas with soggy toast crumbs.
“On its way,” Xander says with a smile. “I didn’t leave you. Not really.”
“Same as me yesterday.”
“You two have spoken about this?” Sebastian asks, his official prime alpha voice in place.
I nod. “Xander didn’t forgive me yet,” I say, throwing him to the wolves.
“Because there is nothing to forgive!” he exclaims hotly, his cheeks going red when Sebastian gives him a filthy look.
Giving him a smug smile and cheeky raised eyebrow, he huffs.
“Fine, I forgive you.”
“Was that so hard?”
“Yes, actually. Because you have made me allude to a problem, but there isn’t one. Not as far as I’m concerned.”
“She wanted to hear you say it,” Sebastian chides him.
He ignores that and me and sits on the floor next to the bed. I reach out and stroke his hair, leaning over to kiss the top of his head. “Thank you.”
“Humph.”
“Two down, two to go,” I murmur.
“Be warned, Ben is in a bit of a mood,” Sebastian remarks.
“When is he not?” I giggle.
The two men let out loud guffaws and I know I’m on solid ground with them again. Yes, we still need to have ‘the talk’, but that will come in its own time.
“Can I see Derek now? I still haven’t spoken to him properly since I ran away.”
“Yes,” Sebastian says. “I’ll send him up and we’ll leave you two alone.”
