“He was going tosellyou?”

My head snaps back to Xander. He is absolutely furious. His face has contorted into a menacing mask of terror, his tone dark and dangerous.

I nod slowly.

“You deserve so much more than that,” Sebastian says carefully, almost as if he is trying to hold onto a deeper emotion. “We can give you everything your heart desires. You will want for nothing.”

“I’m not going to agree to stay just because you live in a big fancy house filled with delicious food,” I snap, insulted. “That’s as bad as whathewas going to do.”

His eyes light up at my fury. He smiles slowly, seductively. “That isn’t what I meant.”

“Humph.”I bet, King Dick with the king dong.“I’ll think about it.”

“Of course.”

Two words spoken that mean nothing. I’m staying here, regardless of whether I want to or not.

“We do need to discuss what you’d like us to do in the next few days,” he continues matter-of-factly.

My cheeks flame when I get that he’s talking about my heat.

“You have several options. We can either take care of you, which is, of course, our preferred option, but if that doesn’t suit you this time, we can get you some accessories to take care of yourself. You can lock yourself in here and we will leave you alone until you are ready. It’s entirely up to you.”

“What if I decide I’m not staying?” I ask archly. He’s taking a massive leap assuming I’ll agree to anything.

“If you think any of us will allow you out on the street with nowhere to go during your heat, I’m insulted, but will ignore it because you don’t know us. None of us would allow any harm to come to you. You areours.”

And there it is.

The possessive and growly alpha I was expecting a while ago.

I’ll admit it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Oh, what to do, what to do?

“I’ll let you know,” I murmur, even though I know I’m staying. Wild horses couldn’t drag me away from this nest.

Speaking of which, I yawn.

“We’ll leave you to rest,” Benjamin says, standing up.

Sebastian’s stare is still on mine, but I lower my eyes. “We’ll check on you again in a little while.”

I nod.

“Think about what I’ve said,” he adds quietly. “We really need you here with us, Faith.”

“I will,” I reply just as softly.

Xander’s eyes meet mine filled with sadness. “Can I stay?” he asks so no one else hears. “I’ll be out here. I want to make sure you’re safe.”

I hesitate for the longest time, until I nod once and then curl up, my eyes closing, and sleep falls over me again.

I watch her, softly snoring and smile.
