Maybe that’s preferable, though.

“Can you put her down?” Woodsy-rain asks. “This doesn’t look good.”

“Are you going to run?” Marshmallows asks. “We aren’t taking you back to any prick. You’re ours now, petal.”

I stay silent.

He heaves me back over his shoulder and with his arms wrapped tightly around me, I slide down his rock-hard body. It sends the omega inside me into a wild frenzy. My hands resting on his broad chest, I look guilelessly up into his face, almost enjoying the feel of his massive arms around me.

Too bad, he doesn’t know me, or how high my survival instinct runs.

Bringing my knee up straight into his groin, he lets out a pained grunt as I definitely connect this time, and lets me go with a curse.

“See ya, knobheads,” I say before I dart off, escaping them once more for sweet freedom.

It lasts all of two seconds.

Woodsy-rain takes a giant step forward and clamps his hand around my wrist so tightly, I think he’s going to break it.

I cry out and contort my body, so he doesn’t snap my arm in two.

“You are not going anywhere, Strawberries,” he says, in a voice so low and dark, I shiver. “You have fucked us about all fucking day, and I’m about at the end of my rope with this.”

He reaches up and loosens his tie with his free hand, pulling it over his head and then wrestling my wrists together. He binds them tightly in front of me with the tie, keeping hold of the leash end while his gaze bores into mine, heated and angry. He flicks open the top button of his expensive white cotton shirt, exposing the smooth skin of his neck.

To my surprise, and his, a deep purr escapes my throat, telling him and the rest of them, exactly what I think about that.

ChapterEleven

Faith

Silence descends all around us.

I realise my faux pas instantly and press my lips together.

It’s too late though.

Woodsy-rain heard me and it affected him in ways that he is currently trying to squash, judging by the tormented look on his face.

He growls, low and fierce. It sends a chill down my spine. I lower my eyes, ready to do his bidding when he drags me to him by the leash of his dark blue silk tie.

I stumble forward.

Reaching out with my hands to stop myself from falling, I clutch at his shirt awkwardly as his free hand goes under my elbow to steady me.

I look up into his dark eyes. I think they’re blue, but it’s hard to tell in the dark park, only semi-lit by the intermittent old Victorian lamp posts scattered about.

He glares back at me, his mouth a firm line of aggravated annoyance.

I breathe out softly at the same time as he inhales. His eyes close, but snap back open in the next instant. He lifts the tie up, bringing my hands closer to his mouth. He grabs the fingers of my right hand and pulls back, bending my fingers backward.

“Ah,” I cry out softly when he lowers his mouth to the sensitive skin on the inside of my wrist.

He presses his lips over my pulse and then he opens up and bites down sharply, giving me a mark that claims me, but not in the way that makes me his mate.

No, he has decided he now owns me.

“Seb,” Marshmallows wheezes after the kneeing I gave him. “Don’t.”
