“Rot in Hell!” I spit at his feet.

“You know, Stella? I might have another use for you after all.”

CALE

“This gonna work?”Steel barks at me. I’ve never met the man until tonight, but now I know why they call him Steel. He’s huge, built like a brick wall, and he knows how to handle a weapon.

“I wouldn’t be putting my life on the line if I wasn’t sure.”

Stella’s gone. Aspyn, Rock’s ol’ lady, saw her get snatched but couldn’t get to her in time.

“Sawyer’s tracking her cell,” I add. Please let her have her cell phone. From what I understand, Rock and Jett usually take care of the hacking and tracking, but they’ve got a few more important things on their hands to deal with right now, like the rest of the club. He’s also tapping my phone, in case she calls again.

“This is completely fucked up,” Willow says, along with Carl and Luke, two of the guys that can still be trusted. I’ll deal with fucking Dougie later, and I don’t know about Jon yet and if his pockets are lined.

“Why’d they take Stella anyways?” Brock asks. We’re all in my truck, with four more behind us piled with bikers. Some stayed back to help with the carnage, but the boys were all in when we learned she was snatched.

“The same reason they wanted Cash, D and Caprice,” I reply. “I did some digging last night before Stella called me about the bomb going off, and I focused solely on Razor. I found it interesting that Mayor Vanders funded Razor’s grave plot, and his phone records showed they were in contact before he died.”

“You did some diggin’,” Brock chimes. “Good man.”

“So let me get this straight so I’m up to speed, Cash killed Razor?” Knox, Steel’s brother, asks. “And then how does Vanders know Razor?”

“That’s where things get interesting.” I swallow hard. “I dug further into Vanders. It makes sense that he’s the puppeteer in all of this. He has power over the police, and likely has men in his pockets on the city council. He turned Montgomery’s head, probably with a big fat paycheck, to frame Cash for a murder he didn’t commit. His sole focus was to destroy this club from the inside out.” I take a beat. “When I looked into his records, I found he changed his name a decade ago, so I searched those records. I found the name matching his exact date of birth on a birth certificate with Damien Holdings listed as the father, that’s Razor’s real name.”

“Holy shit,” Willow says. “So he’s Razor’s kid?”

“Yep, and I’m guessing this whole revenge plot thing is unfolding in real time,” I say, petting Calli’s head. “He’s bided his time to get to Cash, and in doing so he’s certain his plan will go unnoticed and under the radar. That’s what he’s hoping.”

“A text just came through,” Willow says, holding my phone.

If you want her to live, come alone. You try anything, she dies

Willow reads it out, then an address comes through. “I guess we know where we’re going. The graveyard at St. Roch.”

“We’ll surround the cemetery,” Brock says. “We know how to stay hidden, but we have to assume he has men on the ground. From what we know, he has half the cops on his payroll, so this could get ugly.”

“Fuck,” I mutter. “I need it to look like I’m coming alone.”

“Stop off and head there on your motorcycle,” Willow suggests. “We know where we’re going, right, boys?”

Unanimous ‘yeah’s’ ring through the cab. It’s settled. Clearly, Vanders doesn’t live in the real world, nor does he understand how I’d never be stupid enough to go in alone. I don’t expect to come away unscathed, and he likely has men all over the cemetery, but that won’t stop me.

I’m reluctant to split up, but Brock is right. I can’t risk Stella’s life.

I clear my throat. “What about Cash? Is he with D and Caprice?”

“Didn’t see Cash since we left the meetin’ room,” Steel says. “But we’ve got this, the Cali chapter are aware and sendin’ guys down. Hutch is in the truck behind us, ready to fight. The call has gone out, and Rebels stick together.”

Cash hasn’t been overly interactive with the Cali chapter, but their prez, Grinder, is well known in the Cali area because it’s the biggest chapter of the Rebels MC.

“Bane and his guys just arrived at the clubhouse,” Knox says behind me. “He wants to join us.”

Bane is the Ridgehaven Hellions prez from Mississippi, and our brothers in arms.
