"Always, sweetheart, I'll always give you everything you need." He whispered again his words deep and sensual, raising a shiver that skimmed along Conrad's flesh. Satisfied that his beloved was ready, Remi pressed his knees deeper, raising Conrad's ass to jut upward in an erotic fashion that heated Remi to his core. Remi removed his fingers and immediately thrust his hard, throbbing cock into Conrad's well-worked hole, going to the root in one thrust.

Conrad froze, holding his breath and then let it out on a long, sensuous moan. Remi held the position for a few seconds before pulling out and repeating the action, sending Conrad into a frenzy of loud moans and desperate thrusts. He tried to force control, pushing back against Remi, but Remi held him fast and brought him into rhythm, and together they pounded their way to exquisite pleasure and satisfaction.

Remi felt his own body vibrate with the need to come and to claim. His vampire instincts were coming to the surface, and he could feel his face changing, the angles hardening, and hisvision becoming intense and focused. His balls tightened and tingled in the base of his spine, and he knew he was on the edge.

He increased his speed mercilessly, hammering into Conrad's hot body, and then he crashed, hitting the moment, and his body tensed and then trembled as everything let go, and he came so hard he saw spots on the periphery of his vision, and his heart nearly stopped. The bond was forming and their connection gaining strength, and it was then that Remi struck.

His teeth sank into Conrad's soft flesh at the base of his throat. It wasn't a taste this time, no, this time he was making his claim and marking his beloved for all to see. This young man with all his foibles and fears and confusion belonged to him, and Remi was happier than he could ever remember being.

Conrad was his match, the perfect match to offset his own stoic, focused, one-track mind. Now he had an exciting, adventurous, and impulsive partner. Life would be entertaining at the very least.

Remi pulled his teeth free and licked the wound closed before slowly pulling out and settling down next to Conrad on the large, thick rug. They were both panting and reaching for one another. He pulled Conrad to him and wrapped him in his arms. "I love you, sweetheart. You are all mine now." Remi stated needing to stake his claim once again.

"I was always yours, Remi. I was just waiting for you to find me." Remi melted on the spot, took Conrad's lips once again in another burning kiss, and then finished by stroking Conrad's new claiming scar with the tips of his fingers. Conrad shook and sighed so sweetly.

“That was amazing.” He gushed. “Will it always feel like that?”

“Yes, but only when you or I touch it.” He followed that with another stroke.

“Fantastic.” Conrad cuddled close.

“We should probably try to make our way to the bedroom.” Remi’s urgency had made the bedroom unimportant at the time. He needed his beloved; he needed to mark and claim, and nothing was going to get in his way.

"This rug is softer than most of the beds I've slept in, so I'm fine," Conrad said and positioned his head on Remi's shoulder. Remi reached behind them and pulled the throw blanket off the couch, and covered them both.

"I'll introduce you to the Master in the morning and get you settled." Remi was eager to get them both settled and started on their new life together. He hadn't thought of himself as a romantic or someone who had the ability to tie themselves to another so completely. But here he was gushing, romantic as hell, and begging to be one with Conrad for all time. Life has a way of letting you know that you know very little, and least of all yourself. He smiled and tucked the blanket around his beloved and kissed the top of his head.

They had a lot to discuss, explain, and work out with two lives that were so different. They had been heading in opposite directions, but then Fate stepped in and showed them that a perfect love could be theirs.

EPILOGUE

Alpha Henrik sat alone in his office at the Indigo, going over the reports, the surveillance and security upgrades installed and/or suggested by Remi Toulouse, and was eager to go home and be with his mate Max. He needed some downtime, some loving that only a mate could provide. The events of the last two days made it clear that Bay Harbor was not the only Pack territory that needed more sophisticated protection.

He was deep in thought when his brother and pack fixer, Derek, came walking in and took a seat. "Demons used to mind their own business and not make spectacles of themselves." He dropped the comment, and it made Henrik smile. His brother had a way of making even the most horrific event seem practical and mundane, which was one of his greatest powers.

"This one followed Conrad Lowe, the healer from Baton Rouge to Eastport, and wasn't about to just let him slip away, apparently." Henrik poured them both a glass of whiskey.

"He's lucky that Remi was his beloved; anything other than a fully invested paranormal would not have been able to help the healer. The guy would have been drained before he knew anything was amiss." Derek took a long sip of his drink.

"So, this healer, is he going to be useful?" Once again, Derek got down to the practical.

"Not sure as to the extent of his powers. I know he brought a dead man back to life in the lobby, so that was impressive." Henrik offered, and Derek nodded. "Sasha and Javier are friendly with Remi, so they'll keep us informed." They fell silent for a few seconds, and then Derek said what Henrik knew had to happen but had been avoiding.

"Sasha's abilities as a mage have not been used sufficiently. He is a leader among his kind with the added abilities bestowed on him by his grandfather at his death. The man can combat any magic mischief that comes at us. I don't doubt this, and you shouldn't either." Derek made the statement and then waited, giving his brother time to process and respond, for it was time they fought fire with fire.

"As you know, I've always held a dislike and distrust for magics in general. I agree, Sasha is an angel, and we're blessed to have him in our number. His skills are vast and sharp, which were just demonstrated today in the way he trapped and destroyed that demon." He paused for a moment. "My fear is having seen what too much dependency upon magics has done to some communities. When the magic fails, they are helpless, and I never want that for us. I will not allow something I do not control to control what is mine and everything that I hold dear.”

"You have my pledge and promise that the Bay Harbor Pack will never lose itself and will never put full trust and faith in anything but ourselves and our own ability to survive and thrive. Magic is not a master, it is a tool, and we will use it as such." Derek was being honest, and Henrik knew the days of blood and fists as a tool were being edged by the need for magic and its protocols.

“I understand, I don’t like it, but I understand. Just like when we had to force ourselves to learn to compromise and negotiate and learn the process of politics, we can learn to use magics for our own best interests." It was hard to say, but it was necessary.

"We got this, Henrik, and if all else fails, I'll destroy everything, clear the slate, and we will start again." He smiled, and Henrik bent and pulled him in for a side hug.

"I love you, brother."

“Always.”
