“... All flights are grounded, extreme weather warnings have been issued and everyone has been advised to stay indoors…” I stop listening at that point, staring at the woman sleeping in the bed. What are we going to do?

Then suddenly, a moment of clarity.

I have an excuse not to return to Sydney. I am stuck here, on a lead, he doesn’t need to know I have her in my custody. He doesn’t need to know I just fucked her senseless, and better yet,he doesn’t need to know I intend to do a lot more fucking to get her out of my system.

Then I would drag her home, be on Emmanuel’s better side and finally, be able to move on from the fiery woman who had stolen my heart all those years ago.

Hadley

The smell of fried food woke me and I opened my eyes to a lamp on the table to the side of me, and Rhett huddled over a bowl of food as he shoveled it into his mouth. That same mouth that could do things that made me shiver with delight.

“Are you seriously eating again?” I asked him, wiping my eyes and sitting up. The room was warm from the heating but I could feel a coolness coming from the window.

Rhett put the bowl down and turned to look over at me. “You’ve been sleeping for a few hours, you know.”

“Oh…I must have needed it.”

He shrugged his shoulders. “I guess. You’ve also missed the chaos going on outside.”

“What do you mean?”

He picked up the TV remote and flicked it from the old school movie and over to a news channel. I recognized the running script on the bottom as something they do when there’s an emergency. The words “Emergency Declared” appeared next and then “Weather Event”.

“What the fuck?”

“Yeah, it’s not just any storm,” he said. “Apparently, it’s the storm of the millenia, and we’re stuck dead centre of it right now.”

My heart began to flutter. No…that meant I couldn’t escape. I couldn’t run when he was sleeping and make my getaway.

“Are we safe?” I asked him.

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure we are,” he told me. “You want food? They weren’t kidding with 24/7 room service.”

I smirked over at him. “How are you eating when there’s a crazy storm that could kill us outside?”

“Nothing better to do,” he replied.

“Are you saying I’m nothing better to do?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You were sleeping,” he replied, looking down at my cleavage just like I knew he would.

“And you’re above fucking me while I’m asleep, are you?”

“Don’t tempt me, kitten,” he said, putting the cloche on top of the bowl and getting up to stretch. He reached his arms up, the edge of his shirt lifted above his pantline and showed a little of that delicious tummy.

Oh god.

How was I still wanting him? I already had him and he’s satisfied all my urges, now it was time to move on. He worked for my father. There was no choice but to try and get away from him.

Right?

“So what are we supposed to do?”

“Sit tight, princess,” he said. “You could always take that shirt off and show me some skin, work my dick a bit. Might pass the time a little faster.”

I rolled my eyes. “How long is this supposed emergency going to last?”

“Well, see, I didn’t bring my magic eight ball with me, so there’s no way for me to tell you that,” he mocked with a cheeky smirk that I desperately wanted to wipe off his face.
