When she reached down to circle her fingers around his rigid length, the jolt shot through him and almost burned him alive.
"Enough." His voice was a harsh whisper. Hauling her up, he chuckled at the look on her face as he placed her on top of him. "Tell me if I'm hurting you," he urged.
"No. I..." Her back arched as he filled her, went in deep until she was lost, completely lost in sensations. His hands lifted to her waist and then her hips, fingers biting into flesh as he drove into her. His control broke. She was tight and gloriously wet, and he was lost.
She came, her body bucking, her back arched, head thrown back and fingers digging into his chest. Her cries drove him over the edge and had his own climax rushing through his body. He could not stop it. Had neither the power nor the will to do anything but plunge into her over and over until he was empty.
When she collapsed on top of him, he wrapped his arms around her and held her against his thundering heart.
For several long minutes, they just laid there, each absorbed in their own thoughts, each unable to grasp the significance of all of it. His hands circled her back lazily, contentedly, a smile curving his lips.
Finally, she stirred and lifted her head. Golden eyes met hers, sending thrills up and down her spine.
"I have to go."
"No." He tightened his hold, keeping her there.
"I have work," she protested weakly.
"I happen to be very familiar with the boss, and I know he would want you to go in a little later in the day." One hand cupped her cheek. "Besides, I'm not finished yet."
"My clothes..."
"You could leave sometime in the morning and go home and change." He brought her head down and kissed her into silence.
"Move in with me."
She jerked her head at that. "Are you mad?"
He chuckled at her shocked expression. "I just might be certifiable. I need you in my life and want you to know that you're the only woman I have ever extended that offer to."
Even though it thrilled her to hear that, she was aware of the ramifications.
"No."
"Courtney..."
"I work for you..."
"Then quit."
Her eyes flashed. "Are you firing me?" she asked stiffly.
He sighed. "No."
"Good, I happen to love my job."
He almost blurted out that he loved her but managed to keep that information inside him. He had a feeling she was not ready for that yet.
"Spend the weekend with me," he said instead.
"Here?"
"There's a fishing cabin a few miles from here that belongs to a friend. We could leave the office on Friday and stay until Sunday night." His hands drifted to her face. "And I won't take no for an answer."
Chapter 12
Her euphoria carried her into the next morning. Even when she let herself through the front door and picked out her clothes to wear to work, she was still floating on the high of the night and this morning. He had been insatiable, they both had been, she corrected herself as she slipped into the emerald green sweater over tailored black pants. Her hair was a tangled mess and still slightly damp from their time in the shower.
