Lucius caught the sound. “Something funny?” He gripped my ass, palmed the curve, the weight of his hand sending a hot shudder up my spine. “Go on, tell me. Let me in on the joke.”

“Oh, just . . .” I took a slow breath, struggling not to tremble when that rigid length dragged against my thigh. “I’m just realizing. If I’d taken one good look at that monster before you put it in me, I’d have—” I bit my lip, considering. “Well, no. I’d have still let you. But at least I would’ve made sure my will was in order.”

A deep hum rumbled in his throat. With a jerk that rattled the pipes, he flung open the cabinet under the sink. My heart stalled when his fingers closed around a familiar bottle; Mamma’s lubricant, of all things.Oh God.Of all the humiliations, that one stung. Thick, pearly fluid oozed from the nozzle, dripping down his knuckles.

“Interesting,” he said silkily.

“Lucius.”

“What? We’re just talking.”

Except we both knew talk was cheap, and the slick trickle sliding warm down my backside was a glaring reminder of exactly how screwed I was. Mortification wrestled furiously with a hot, pulsing need that left no doubt—I’d never again manage a conversation with Mamma without this image scarring my mind.

My head fell back, resting against the solid warmth of his chest as his fist stroked himself, every sound amplifying my shameful impatience.

“No,” I breathed. “We’re really not.”

Lucius braced one tattooed hand beside mine on the counter and pushed inside. The sudden intrusion burned sweetly, tight and unyielding, the slick sound of lube making me flush even hotter. I shivered, fingers clenching on the marble, and let out a quiet, mmm, lifting onto my toes to sink back down and take him even deeper.

“Cristo, Kayla.” His voice broke with rough astonishment. “You need it that badly, huh?”

I held his stare in the mirror, sunk my teeth into my bottom lip as I eased away from him. The veins on his cock scraped every clenching inch of me on the way out, before driving back in with a grunt that ripped a throaty moan from my throat. His jaw was tight, the muscle ticking, teeth grit with restraint or the lack of it, I couldn’t tell. Honestly, I was long past caring.

Pressing my face into the mirror, I arched my spine to take the pressure off my still tender ass, and shifted the angle, clenching down on the thickness. A rough sound left his lips, like he wasn’t prepared for my grip. Shallow thrusts in reverse became deep, rough strokes that sank all the way down until Lucius was buried to the hilt. A shudder moved through him, his hand smoothing down my back to settle on my hip. I’d never been more full. My eyes squeezed shut, but his reflection refused to fade away.

The counter rattled beneath clammy palms. Plaster dust kissed the air. Everything blurred into sensation. Every sound amplified. Heat. Pressure. Slap. Drag.

Turning my head, my mouth brushed over his, capturing a quiet moan on the tip of my tongue. Lucius drank it down, rough Portuguese pouring over my cheek like molten gold, each word slicking my thighs with heat.

“You feel that?” he hissed roughly, gaze heavy-lidded and hungry as it flicked downward, fixating where he vanished inside me. “That’s all you. Fucking dripping for it.Coisa linda. . .”

His hips hit the backs of my thighs, and with a curse, he leaned back to grip me beneath the knee, lifted me off the counter and pressed me against the wall. Cold plaster shocked my back, though he fucked me deep and hard until heat licked beneath my skin, searing through every cell. Clothes half on, half off, yet every brush of contact so acute I wanted to claw my way inside his chest and set up residence.

Each time he kissed me, something warm unfurled in my chest. A soft, terrifying heat that spread to my fingertips and curled my toes against the small of his back. It melted me, made me feel fluid, pliable, utterly helpless beneath his touch. The sensation was dizzying and frightening, but stopping now was as impossible as halting the sea.

The orgasm crested sharply, drowning out everything but the blaze of white-hot stars behind my eyes and the desperate tightening of my fist in his hair. I bit down hard on his shoulder as he pulled out with a rough groan, coming against my thigh.

In the aftermath, there was a contentment that curled around me in a heavy languor. With my legs still wrapped around him, I placed a kiss on his neck. Soaked up his scent. Breathing heavily, Lucius propped his hands on the wall at my sides while I trailed lazy kisses along his jaw and cheeks. A quiet, contented rumble drifted from his chest, deep in his throat. My lips brushed his mouth, softer this time, tentative and questioning, until he deepened it, hand sliding up to cradle the back of my head. Another hand slid beneath my ass to hoist me higher against him until he had me in a perfect, princess hold.

I threaded my fingers into his hair, nails scraping along his scalp in idle, thoughtless strokes. He kissed me back with languid swipes of his tongue. Murmured something in Portuguese. Words I was too tired to make sense of. And for some inexplicable reason, a shiver raced through my body. He did it again, low, this time against my neck.

“We should go back out.” There was zero rush in my voice.

“Mhm.” He pulled the shoulder of my dress down low, nipped at my collarbone.

I moaned, head tipping back against the wall. “They might ask where we went.”

Teeth on my neck. “Might.”

The haze was creeping back, clouding my thoughts, dulling the edges of reason. “You don’t need to—”

But his mouth moved lower, brushing the curve of my shoulder, the swell of my breast, and the words I’d meant to say burned away, lost in the heat of his breath. My fingers tightened in his hair, and all I could manage was a soft, “Oh,” as the world tilted and slipped away again.

Click-click.

I opened my eyes in time to see the Zippo flash to life. Fire licked the air, casting his face in brief, golden relief before vanishing with a sharp snap. It was the only light in my bedroom other than the ember burning slow at the end of his cigarette.

“Where did you learn that thing?” I asked, turning my head to nod at his hand.
