He will not be going anywhere.
Not being able to say anything, I sit up and hold out my hand. Dad always said that if you want to make a deal, you had to shake the other person’s hand. “Thank you, Henry.”
“Absolutely, sir.”
Henry isn’t going anywhere.
But having Henry here is step one. Other things need to be done in order to give these kids good life here, whether it be short or long term.
I need to get my shit together.
No more parties.
No more drinking until four in the morning.
No more random hookups.
No more ignoring work and escaping to a different country.
I need to make changes and not just think about myself. Four lives depend on me for the time being, and I will try my hardest to be the uncle and parent that they need. There is going to be a lot of mistakes and unknowns coming my way, but I don’t give a shit. I can handle it.
Ineedto handle it.
How do I get my shit together? By having a goal.
And my goal?
The top-floor office at Lane Enterprises.
That company deserves to be run by a Lane, and I will make sure it’s me.
“Henry.”
“Yes, sir?”
“Do you remember how I told you to continue pushing me with Lane Enterprises a few weeks ago?”
“I remember.”
I smirk. “Accelerate it. Push as hard as you fucking can. I will become CEO, and I will stop at nothing until that title is mine.”
The second I turn thirty, the sprint begins.
For now, I have four kids to take care of.
CHAPTER 15

Robert hasn’t come back.
He broke his promise.
He’s gone, and I doubt he will ever come back.
Henry and I are all his kids have now.
