Gwen looks at me with daggers shooting out of her eyes. I can see the anger fuming all over her facial expression and I’m sure if we were in a different world, smoke would be coming from her ears too.

“Whatever. Have fun with the little hussy,” she lets out, pushing the passenger door open and dropping the bag of food on the passenger seat.

I’m about to say something to her, but she slams the door behind her and storms into the sorority house.

I really need to reevaluate my love life, because fuck, this is too much.

The whole time that Gwen and I have been together, I’ve seen Sophia be nothing but respectful with Gwen and my relationship with her. There is no fucking reason why my girlfriend should be acting this way. I want to tell her that Sophia was here before she was and she will be here after she leaves, but I don’t want to piss her off even more, even if it is the truth.

Letting out a sigh, I start up the truck again and head over to mine and Sophia’s apartment building.

Hopefully she’s done with biology stuff because I feel like talking. About what’s going on with her, check in on her because it feels like I haven’t done that in a while and possibly get advice about my relationship. So many things.

It takes me five minutes to get from the sorority house to the apartment building.

With the food in hand, I make my way upstairs and instead of stopping at my place real quick, I head straight up to Sophia’s.

With no thought about the time whatsoever, I pound against the door. It’s not until Sophia opens the door all wide eyed, that I remember that it’s late and her roommates could be sleeping.

“What are you doing here?” she asks me, opening the door some more to let me in. It doesn’t go unnoticed how she checks behind me to see if someone is potentially with me before closing the door.

One hundred percent she is checking to see if Gwen is with me.

Have I been in a cloud or something that I haven’t notice my girlfriend and best friend are not getting a long? I fucking need to get my shit together and fix this situation.

I hold up the food I got her. “I said I was going to bring you food.”

“Oh,” she says looking at the bag. “I didn’t think you were actually going to do that.”

“I always do that,” I say, holding out the bag for her to take. “You want some, or not?”

She doesn’t even hesitate taking the bag from me and heading over to the kitchen to start eating. I knew she was hungry.

A few minutes after she starts eating, I break the small bit of silence that we were in.

“Your dad asked me if I wanted to meet up a few times a week to get a few extra workouts in. Work on the basics and such,” I say to her, trying to take her attention away from her food.

“Are you going to do it?” she asks, not looking up.

I don’t have to ask to know that she talked to him about me wanting to possibly leave school early so that I can sign with the Knights. If it was to help me out, Soph would break our best friend swear ten times over and I would do the same for her.

I was going to bring up some possible training sessions to her dad the next time I saw him, because even though I don’t need them, it wouldn’t hurt to get back to the basics for a little bit. Sophia knew that and I can’t be mad at her for beating me to the punch. I’m appreciative.

“Yeah, if I want that three-year contract, I’m going to need all the help that I could get.”

“Good.”

“Thank you for telling him,” I say to her, throwing her a smile to show her my appreciation.

She gives me a smile back. “You would do the same for me.”

For the next few minutes, Sophia eats her food and I try my hardest to let my phone distract me as she does, but I keep thinking about something that Gwen said and I can’t keep my mouth shut anymore.

“Can I ask you something?” I ask when she is almost done.

She gives me a nod. “Go for it.”

“Why don’t you text me all the time anymore?” I ask, curiously.
