Everything in me is saying that I should go over to her and rescue her from this dude, but she said she wanted space. If I go over there and interrupt their interaction, there is a chance that she will end up even angrier with me that she already is.
So, I keep my distance but keep my eyes on her. I watch her all that I can, but when the fucker guides her toward the basement, I throw out caring about giving her space and follow after them.
Sophia has come with me to other parties at this house on multiple occasions, so she knows that the basement is mostly used for playing video games. She also knows that even though there are people playing video games, people tend to use the dark parts of the room to fool around.
It doesn’t matter how many people may be down there, there is always at least two couples hidden in plain sight making out or going to third base. She has never gone down there willingly.
I don’t care who this fucker is, he’s going to meet my fist for taking her down there.
As soon as I step onto the stairs to head down, I smell the weed that is probably making it’s rounds.
Thank fuck, I’m not going to get drug tested tomorrow, because no way would I be passing it after this.
I make my way down the basement stairs and the second my feet are on solid ground, I look for her everywhere I can.
There’s not a whole lot of people down here, so I’m able to find her quickly and when I do, I see fucking red.
The douche has her pushed up against the wall in one of the dark enclaves that the basement has, and from what I can see, she trying to push him away. From the way her mouth is moving, she’s telling him no but the asshole doesn’t budge.
He’s about to wish he had.
I stalk over there, catching Sophia’s gaze when I’m about a foot away. The way she looks relieved to see me, is everything that I need to pull the fucker away from her and get between them.
As soon as I come face to face with the fucker, I recognize him as one of the guys on the football team that thinks he’s the gods of all gods.
“Don’t you fucking know that when someone pushes you away and is telling you no, that’s the universal sign to back the fuck up.” I place my hands on this fucker’s chest and shove him away.
“Stay out of it, Jacobi. This has nothing to do with you. Me and the pretty girl were just talking,” Miller, the football douchebag, says, shoving me back just like I did to him.
I brace my body as much as I can, not wanting to hurt Sophia. The guy has two inches and about twenty pounds of muscle on me, one wrong move and not only am I going to be falling to the ground, so is Sophia with my weight suffocating her.
“This does have something to do with me,” I say straightening out my body. “She’s with me. So, if you want to stick your dick somewhere it doesn’t fucking belong, I suggest you go look somewhere else.”
“If this was your piece of ass, you should have just said that, Jacobi. I would have backed off.” Miller grins, like all this is a joke.
Instead of red, I’m seeing blood.
There is no hesitation in brining my arm back and letting my fist meet the asshole’s jaw.
Sophia lets out a scream behind me, but even that isn’t enough to pull me out my rage. I hit the bastard two more times before he is able to get a few punches in. I feel someone pulling at me, and I hear Sophia’s voice yelling at me to stop, but I don’t.
The fight continues until someone much bigger than Sophia is able to pull the two of us apart.
Not a single face registers, but one.
Sophia steps into my line of sight, her face filled with concern as she places her hand on my cheeks and looks at the damage that no doubt covers my face.
If I get drafted tomorrow, mom can say goodbye to getting a good picture to post on her social media.
CHAPTER TEN
BLAKE
A cold liquidlands on my face and I can’t help but to hiss and flinch away from it.
“Stay still,” Sophia orders as she dabs a piece of gauze on the apparent cut I have on my face, courtesy of Miller.
As soon as the fight was over, Sophia dragged me out of that basement and that house as fast as she could. According to her, she didn’t want me to start another fight. I kindly reminded her that I didn’t start a fight, the fucker that was hitting on her crossed a line and I simply taught him a lesson.
