That day fucking traumatized me. Who knew that something so small and so adorable could release such nasty ass smelling poop and make sure it gets into every single crevice and article of clothing.

Whatever Liam and Chloe are feeding the kid, has to be thrown away and burned.

I would be more than okay not experiencing that again for another fifty years, but even then that is too soon.

“That’s up to Liam, not you.” Blake throws out, like we’re in elementary school.

“I’m actually good with that arrangement,” he says, giving our teammate a shrug. “So talk away, Jacobi.”

I shake my head. “I can still smell the second dirty diaper, it’s like ingrained into my brain and now every time I see my couch, I smell it.”

I shudder at the memory. I’m not used to changing diapers, so one little slip and everything I touched had green goop on them.

“That was your fault. You should have made sure that the diaper was properly secure before you left the apartment.” Now Liam is giving me a shrug.

“You’re the one that kicked me out with your kid and dog because you wanted to screw your girlfriend’s brains out.” I’m not babysitting again until both are potty trained. There was shit everywhere.

“That was a good day, though,” My best friend throws back a stupid smile on his face, probably remembering how the two of them screwed around until about seven in the evening.

“Boys, can we stop talking about baby poop and screwing and let me take my pictures?” Eliana says, sounding frustrated, but when I turn to look at her, I catch her smiling.

“Yes, ma’am.” We all say at the same time.

For the next ten minutes, the three of us don’t say a word and let Eliana take every single picture that she needs. When she is finally happy, she gives us the okay to leave.

“Did you guys hear we will be seeing who the new owners are?” Blake asks as we walk into the locker room to change out of our gear.

At the start of last year, there were rumors floating around all through the hockey world that the Dark Knights were going to be getting a new owner. Apparently the one that we had was looking at selling because none of his kids wanted to take over. A lot of us didn’t really care, just as long as it didn’t hurt the team and our chance of winning it all, we were okay with it.

The rumors went on for months, and finally around April, it was announced that the team was sold to a private company. One that has a fake sounding name, I might add. But since then there haven’t been any major changes to the team since then and nobody has even seen the new owner in the building or knows who they are.

Locker room rumors as of this morning, are saying that these new owners, whoever they might be, will be coming around in the next few days to introduce themselves.

If those rumors are true, I have no idea.

“Doubt that they’ll come. We haven’t seen them since they bought the team. Why come around now?” I voice, pulling off my jersey.

“My thing is, why keep it a secret? Why buy the team under a private company and only show up when the new season is about to start? If I were them, I would have said who I was the second the contract was signed and taking credit for us winning the cup,” Liam says, which has both me and Blake nodding in agreement.

“I say it’s a woman. Someone who has rich-people money and loved the sport so much that she bought herself the team to spite her parents or something. Or maybe to get revenge on one of her exes.” Blake says, leaving both me and Liam speechless.

Liam turns to look at me and silently asks me with his eyes if Blake is okay, and I just give him a shrug. I’ve been asking myself the same question since I met the kid.

Blake realizes that we haven’t reacted to his little theory, so he turns to look at us, his eyebrows bunched up. “What?”

“Where the fuck did that theory come from?” Liam asks, looking at him like he has three heads again.

Our teammate shrugs. “I was video chatting with Jainie, my sister, last night and she was telling me about one of her romance books that our sister-in-law, Lennie, gave her about some billionaire chick and I guess the story got stuck in my head.”

“How is your sister?” I ask, curious about the youngest Jacobi sibling. Blake has an older brother and a younger sister. His older brother, Hunter, is starting quarterback for the San Francisco Gold, who has a super bowl win on his back. The guy is good and I find it crazy that both brothers ended up going pro in two different sports.

Their little sister, Jainie, doesn't come around very often, but the girl is hella smart. From what Blake tells us, she’s finishing up her doctorate in athletic training and since the girl has two pro athletes for brothers, she will have no trouble getting a job. If I remember correctly, she also has someone on the inside in San Francisco for their major league baseball team. So the girl has options.

“She’s good. Finally left her prick of shithead boyfriend. Fucking hated that guy,” Blake grunts, out.

Liam groans out at Blake’s comment. “I don’t think I will ever be mentally prepared for when Emma starts dating. That shit sounds scary.”

The two of them continue to talk about keeping guys away from Emma and Jainie, all the while my mind wanders to Eliana and her relationship with Bradford.
