“She posted the picture?” I scratch my head.

Liam nods. “I saw it a few days ago. The view looked familiar, but I didn’t put it together until I saw you check your phone when we got here.”

“Has she posted anything else?” I ask, curious if I’m all over her page. Or if she’s declared me as hers for nobody else to touch. Would that bother me? Nope, the opposite actually.

My best friend shrugs. “There’s pictures from what I know now is your balcony but nothing that screams that she’s with you.”

Why do I wish she had?

“Who is thisshewe’re talking about?” Blake asks, trying to get into the middle of our conversation. The dude is like a puppy.

I roll my eyes while Liam answers him. “Remember how I told you we’re getting a new team photographer?”

He nods. “Yeah, you said not to get on her bad side.”

“Well, it looks like our friend here is on her good side.”

“Oh, shit. Rodriguez has a girlfriend?” Blake asks excitedly.

“She’s not my girlfriend,” I throw out, because she’s not.

“Dude, you have a picture of her on your lock screen. She’s definitely a girlfriend.” Blake argues and now I’m the one rolling my eyes.

“You have a picture of Sophia on your lock screen and she’s not your girlfriend,” I say right before I flip him off. Not going to lie by my relationship with Blake is a lot of mindless banter and in a way, it reminds me of all the shit Eliana and I throw at each other.

“Oh, I put that there you know to scare away the jersey chasers,” Sophia chimes in. “Blakey here is trying to concentrate on hockey this year and not on who’s in his bed.”

I know for a fact that is not the real reason, but I don’t argue with her. Instead, I just raze Blake some more.

“Damn, I never thought I’d see the day where Jacobi would be going celibate,” I say and it’s the truth. Blake goes through women like I go through socks. It’s scary and impressive all at the same time.

“I’m not going celibate. I’m just taking a break,” he says, giving Sophia a shove for giving me information about him that I can use to torment him later on. “Anyway, this isn’t about me. This is about you and the girl that you have on your lock screen. So, what’s her name?”

Damn hockey players and their love for gossip.

“None of your–”

“Eliana Anderson.” Liam tells him.

This fucker. I’m revoking the best friend card. I’ll give it to Logan; he doesn't get all up in my business.

“Anderson? As in Coach Anderson? As in our head coach, that Anderson?” Blake asks, his eyes going wide.

“The very one,” Liam confirms.

“Dude, you’re dating coach’s daughter.”

“I’m not dating coach’s daughter.” I mean, I technically am, but I’m going to tell them that. Eliana and I have to officially talk about it first before I go telling my nosy friends.

“You’re sleeping with her, taking pictures with her and putting them on the lock screen on your phone. Dude, you’re dating her. Does coach know?”

His question stumps me.

Does he know? I know Anderson's relationship with his daughter is not great, but Eliana has told me that they’ve been trying to work things out ever since she got hired by the Knights. He texts her and calls her occasionally, but I don’t know if the fact that she is spending time with me is even a topic of conversation.

I doubt that she has told him anything. If she had she would have either told me or Anderson would have my head already for defiling his little girl.

“I doubt it, Eliana hasn’t said anything,” I answer, giving him a shrug. “And don’t go telling him either,” I say, kicking Blake in the shin. “I don’t need him chewing my ass out at practice because he didn’t hear it from his daughter first.”
