I promised Chloe a jersey with her tickets and since I haven’t seen her, I thought it would be a good idea for her to get it when she picks up her tickets.

Hopefully she puts it on and I get a glimpse of my name across her back. I wouldn’t mind also seeing her in it while I slide into her tight core if the night takes us in that direction.

A man can only dream.

“How come he was able to get jerseys? When I asked you, you told me no?” Blake asks Gage before he leaves the room.

Gage looks from me back to Blake before answering. “Because he only asked me for two. You asked for four. I can’t give every single one of your flavors of the week one.”

I look over at Blake’s expression and the dude looks like a damn puppy dog.

“They weren’t for my flavors of the week. I actually have women in my life that are important.” Blake answers, sounding a bit offended.

“Yeah, who?” Gage asks, crossing his arms.

I don’t know why but this whole interaction is entertaining.

“My mom, my sister, my sister-in-law and my best friend.” Blake answers, copying Gage’s stance.

The whole room can tell when Gage realizes that he messed up. He seriously thought that Blake was giving these jerseys away to random girls.

I would think the same thing too if I hadn’t gotten to know the guy a lot more these last few weeks.

The guy either spends time with either his teammates or his best friend, Sophia. According to him, he doesn’t have time for anyone he doesn’t already know.

“I’ll have the jerseys ready by the end of the game.” Gage concedes.

“Thank you,” Blake gives him a nod and heads back to his bench.

I can’t help but be nosy. “I didn’t know your brother got married already.” I say, sliding on my hockey pants.

You would figure that the wedding of the number one quarterback in the NFL would be all over social media.

Blake gives me a shrug pulling on his jersey.

“He hasn’t. Last I heard they were thinking about next year. I just call Lennie my sister-in-law already because she is a lot more than just my brother’s girlfriend.”

I’ve met his brother’s girlfriend once and from what I saw, she’s shy but it seems like both of the Jacobi men are enthralled by her.

“It’s nice that you already include her in things.” I say, grabbing my jersey.

“Oh the jersey is to piss off my brother. He hates it when she wears someone else’s name on her back. So I’m making it my mission to fill Lennie’s closet with so many Blake jerseys that the vein in his forehead pops. Me and her are in on it together.”

“But you have the same last name.” I state. Surely that would be okay.

“You would figure that would be fine, but the asshole has this weird possessive thing going on. His name, team and number or nothing.” Blake says, rolling his eyes.

Damn, that’s a little insane.

“Sounds like a smart man.” Christian says, coming into the conversation from god knows where.

The dude is serious about his superstitions and before every game, pregame and beyond, he disappears to do one of his rituals.

What that ritual is, I have no idea. All I know is that he comes to the arena, disappears for a good twenty minutes, and then reappears again ready for the game.

I asked him more than a few times about it but he always just says don’t worry about it, it’s his superstition not mine.

Whatever. I’ll find out eventually.
