I smiled, ignoring the sting on the backs of my eyes.

“How did I get so lucky?” I whispered. “You’re so perfect, Aiden.”

Aiden was shaking his head before I finished speaking.

I moved my hand toward his jaw to force him to look at me, but the angle was wrong, so I ended up holding his throat. I tried to move again to correct my position, but when Aiden’s eyes met mine, I paused. His pupils were blown wide open just from my hand on his neck.

Fucking hell, this man.

“You’reperfect, Aiden. You’reenoughfor me.” I said firmly.

Aiden’s brown eyes welled with tears.

“Do you believe me?” I whispered, tightening my hold on his neck just slightly.

Aiden gasped and nodded as much as he could.

“I’m sorry for not telling you about Wyatt,” I said, then I kissed him gently.

Aiden whimpered the moment I opened my mouth to him. His breathing was already ragged, though I wasn’t holding his throat hard enough for that. He was clearly still keyed up from whatever had happened with Wyatt.

“I understand,” Aiden said through kisses.

“What happened?” I asked. I finally moved my hand from his throat to cup his face.

“I broke his desk,” Aiden panted against my neck, then ran his tongue along my jaw.

My brain blacked out for a second.

“Youwhat?”

“I broke his desk. I burnt it. Threw a fireball at him. He didn’t fight back. All his lights shattered, too. That’s why I got detention. Carissa fucking showed up.” Aiden mumbled against the skin on my collarbone.

“Who’s Carissa?” I whispered as Aiden nibbled at my neck. Imagining Aiden destroying Wyatt’s office in my honor while Wyatt just stared like an idiot had me clenching my thighs, and that had me almost groaning. I shouldn’t like the idea of a man being violent in my defense…Iusuallydidn’t like that, but this was…weird. I blamed biology.

“Just an office aide,” Aiden panted in reply. I didn’t even remember what I’d asked him.

“Aiden,” I said his name, planning to, I don’t know, scold him? But then his lips met my neck again and I almost melted in his arms. His tongue wasperfect.

“I threatened him. I told him I’d k-kill him.” Aiden stuttered as I ran my hands down his back.

“That’s crazy,” I whispered. Itwascrazy. Totally insane. And yet here we were, about to fuck over it. I made a mental note to find the both of us actual therapists in the near future.

“You make me crazy,” he replied through a laugh.

My eyes nearly rolled back in my head as his hands teased at my leggings.

“You trust me, right, Skye?” Aiden asked in his small, shy voice that I loved.

“I do,” I replied without hesitation.

Aiden’s hand slowed over my hips, and I opened my eyes to see that he was watching me carefully.

“Are you hiding something else from me?” he asked in a whisper.

I blinked at him, my lips parting in shock.

“What is it?” he asked.
