I blinked.

I did know. I knew exactly what he meant. Fucking Rafe had watched the whole thing and given me a painfully detailed play-by-play that was now burned into my brain.

“Aiden, it sounds like things are going well for you.” I said after clearing my throat slightly. “I’m glad to hear it. You certainly deserve it.”

Aiden’s face lit up with a shy smile. “Thanks, Wyatt. I like coming to speak to you, now. I feel like I’m doing better. I’m actually proud of myself for once.”

I nodded, then stilled as a flicker of shadow caught my eye from the corner of my office.

Don’t even think about it,I warned. A chuckle rattled through my mind in response.

Fucking Rafe.

“It looks like our time is coming to a close. I’ll report back as usual. You can always request an emergency meeting if you need me.” I said.

Aiden nodded. “Thanks, Wyatt. Any plans this evening?”

I forced a smile. “I think I’ll be catching up with an old friend. You?”

“Fun,” Aiden commented, though I could tell he didn’t mean it. “I’ve got an essay to research.”

“Fun,” I parroted, and Aiden flashed me one more grin before he strode from the room.

Skye greeted Aiden as soon as he stepped out the door and called him…angel? And then the silhouette of Aiden and Skye kissing right in front of my door had me grinding my teeth together.

“Little minx, isn’t she?” Rafe murmured, his dark form having materialized near my desk.

“She calls himangel?” I almost sneered.

“Green’s never been your color, Wy.” Rafe drawled, wiggling his eyebrows at me.

“She calls youstalker,” I snapped.

“Actually, she calls meshadow,” Rafe corrected, then snorted to himself. “Better than being calledasshole, which is your unfortunate title.”

“What do you want?” I muttered, forcing my eyes away from the fogged glass of my office door and down to Aiden’s paperwork.

“Well, clearly that show was for you, Craig.” Rafe said brightly. He flopped down on my couch as if he were at home. “So the little shit beat us. Get over it already.”

I glowered at him, and the psycho only grinned back at me. Apparently, he’d already forgotten how he’d moaned her name over and over in his sleep like he was in pain.

“I should speak to her,” I said softly. Watching that silhouetted kiss had me rethinking a lot of things. Mostly, it embarrassed me, but I’d never admit that to fucking Rafe. I wondered briefly if I sent an email summons for a counseling session if Skye would bother attending.

I was running out of options in regards to both Skye and Aiden. The only counseling aide with free space in their schedule for new students was Carissa, and I’d never send Aiden or Skye into her office. That would cause a disaster.

“Yes, without all the tongue this time.” Rafe mused. “Or maybe use the tongue, but after the apology.”

I rubbed my eyes so hard, stars exploded across my vision.

“Leave him alone, Wy.”

My head snapped up at the warning in Rafe’s tone, but it took a moment for my vision to clear. “What?” I hissed.

“Don’t fuck with Aiden’s head. If he’s good enough for Skye, he’sgood enough for me. The same should be for you. If you hurt him, I’ll fuck you up.”

I scoffed. “I don’t know where this is coming from.”

“Yes you do,” Rafe’s eyes flashed again. “Don’t hurt him, Wyatt. I’m serious.”
