I am. Hope you had a great show.
SAHAR
Thank you! I’ve opened this doc with a cup of tea, and I’m already very upset this was shelved because the title alone is such a win.
JAY
Every Speck of Dust?
Frankly, if there was one thing he hated, it was that title. He was awful at coming up with them, and so was Patrick, his best friend and frequent collaborator.
SAHAR
There’s a quote in one of my favourite books that features a line like that.
JAY
What book?
SAHAR
The Wolf Lady by Gertrude Mae Dawes.
JAY
I’ve never heard of it, and I have many questions.
SAHAR
Happy to answer them, but now I’m off to read ep 1.
He looked up the book on the Strand’s website, seeing that it was only available for online purchase. He did have many questions, especially if he were to judge by the title and cover, but if this was one of Sahar’s favorite books, he wanted to know why. He had to.
He knew what kind of video games she preferred, but a favorite book was like walking into a secret passageway straightinto the most sacred parts of a person’s mind. He was sure there would be a treasure trove attached to it.
Though first, he’d read it for himself.
The following night,as he was getting ready to sleep, he noticed two notifications from Sahar appear on his lock screen. Reaching for the glasses he’d just taken off, Jay put them back on and read the text.
SAHAR
I realized I hadn’t actually gotten around to watching your films yet, so after reading the first page (not the full ep yet), I decided to watch Beneath the Sun.
I have multiple bones to pick with you.
He heard her voice in his head as he read the text, and a genuine laugh rose at the base of his throat.
JAY
Haha let’s hear it.
SAHAR
Why do you hate happy endings?
JAY
They’re unrealistic.
