Eleven.God, how had that happened? Where had the time gone? After finally quitting his job at the coffee shop shortly before filming forWoodlawnbegan, Jay made sure to visit Eloise every other weekend during the school year. He’d also flown her and Maya to the filming location for a relatively tame shooting day. Eloise had been so giddy. So excited. And she still wanted to follow in his footsteps, which was slightly less terrifying these days.
He smiled and said, “I hope your response was ‘Only the office scene you watched during filming, but the rest? Not until you’re forty.’”
“You know very well I didnotsay that. Maya and I agree she gets a full PG cut, and we’re watching it when we go to Philly next weekend. You’re outnumbered here.”
Affectionately shaking his head, he draped his arm over her shoulder as he guided her out of the room and walked out of The Bill Hotel. Little did he know, when they had been at this very spot for an after-party three years ago, he would get the chance to see his series come to life. Sahar would go on to do two shows after her contract atMidnights at Pemberleyended, including her current role inParchment Paper, where she was reunited with Miles and Innila.
They had made long-distance work and came back together again.
Little didtheyknow…
Sunlight cascaded down upon them as they stepped outside to birds chirping and competing with New York City’s bustling soundtrack. Sahar squeezed his waist, looking up at him as they waited for the valet employee to return his car. Her pretty eyes held his gaze and kept him steady.Happy. Content.Perfect.“We have wedding plans to finalize now.”
Jay nestled her close, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “That’s right, sunshine. We do.”
