She shook her head, pressing her lips back on his.

They kissed slowly for a beat, taking each other in. Over and over and over again.

“Your ankle,” he mentioned, remembering why she was here and not at work.

“We can be careful,” she hummed.

He tugged on her bottom lip, biting down gently. “You’re not going to tell me what changed your mind?”

She lowered herhead, placing a kiss at the jut of his throat. “Questions later. Right now, I only want you.”

A low groan surged out of him. The sensation of her mouth moving against his was more intoxicating than he remembered.

She cupped his cheek, soft and warm.

God, please no emergencies this time.

Drawing his hands to her shoulders, he drifted his fingers slowly over her collarbones. “Then tell me how you want me. Show me all the ways you want to be touched. Tell me how you like to come. Let me give you everything you want and deserve, Sahar.”

Her breath hitched as she looked at him. “Jay,” she whispered.

Inching closer on the couch, he settled his lips along her neck, pressing an open-mouthed kiss to her soft, sweet skin. “Tell me,” he rasped.

“Whatever you want.”

She was being agreeable, tactile, and too damn closed off. He didn’t want her like this.

He wanted the woman who’d waltzed into his coffee shop and screamed about the abysmal call the referee made at the Man City game the day before. He wanted the woman who didn’t hesitate to tell him his story was too sad, and she wanted a happy ending instead.

Tracing her lips with the pad of his thumb, Jay held her gaze. “Iwant you to talk to me, sunshine. I want full transparency. In case you didn’t hear me the first time,I wanttogiveyoueverything,” he underscored.

She swallowed, shutting her eyes for the briefest second. He brushed his fingers to the column of her throat, over her shoulder blades, and down toward her arms, as he watched goosebumps dance across her skin.

“I want all of you. I really want your mouth. But the problem is when I return the gesture, I’d prefer if you’d come outside of mine because I don’t like how it feels.”

“I’m not sure I understand where the problem lies. I have no issue pulling out,” he said.

“Martin, he uh—”

Jay’s pupils blew wide. He understood it immediately then. Her reservations about talking to him, the unease in her voice, the speedy willingness to do whathewanted. “Did that fucker make you feel like you were a problem because he refused to pull out?”

Sahar nodded, skating her fingers over his forearms. “Said it wasn’t fair, and he didn’t want it if that was the case.”

Rage burning through him, Jay huffed. “His fucking loss.” He slid his hand to her upper thigh, fingers fanning wide. “You want me to go down on you? That’s what I’ll do.Happily.No questions asked. No bargaining necessary. What else?”

She looked right at him, awe and disbelief running laps in her gaze, then pulled her bottom lip in between her teeth, thinking. “You can touch my hair, but please don’t pull. My scalp is super sensitive, and it doesn’t help that I have pins in it almost every day.”

“Understood. Anything else?”

“That’s it.”

Placing his fingers underneath her chin, he nudged her to look at him. “I’m going to pick you up now and take you to my room. Then, I’m gonna make sure you’ve forgotten every other person you’ve been with. Sound good?”

Her lips parted, eyes dazed. “Yeah.”
