SAHAR
I love that. (Minus the part of you having a shitty childhood.) Was there a specific movie that pushed you down this path?
JAY
Rear Window.
SAHAR
Oh, brilliant! That’s my favourite from Hitchcock. Do you prefer writing or directing?
JAY
Do I get to ask you questions about your career as well or is this a one-way Q&A?
SAHAR
Haha you can ask whatever you want. But answer my question first.
JAY
It depends on the day, honestly. But I think writing a little more.
What made you go into theatre?
SAHAR
That’s good to know. I love words. I wish I could write.
To answer your question, I was a very dramatic child who put on shows for her family, so they finally decided to take me to drama school and dance classes. You love writing the parts people play, and I look forward to bringing them to life.
God.He would give anything to see her bring to life one of his characters.
JAY
Just theatre? Have you done movies or TV?
SAHAR
I haven’t, no. I’m not opposed to the idea, but there’s something about live performances with an audience that fuels me. Speaking of, have you worked with or know any of the others in Midnights at Pemberley?
JAY
Yeah, Sam and I have a few mutual friends, so I knew him before. I watched Detective Vice, so I’d seen Ethan there. But I’m not familiar with anyone else outside of visits to the shop.
SAHAR
Declan also did TV and film, but his work is more my cup of tea.
JAY
Lol what does that mean?
SAHAR
He’s been in some great PBS series—period pieces, romances, etc.
