Everyone laughs and goes back to their conversations as Liam flips her back upright in his arms. “Alright, Kitchen, go find Pappy!”

“You’re crazy, Dad. I’m gonna go find out where you were born and change your name now.”

I laugh as I steer Reid further into the wild and crazy house I grew up in, walking through the main parts and pushing open the back porch doors that lead to the large deck. I close them behind us and pull him to sit, his hands automatically pulling me into his lap.

“Hey, big guy. You doing okay?”

“Yeah, we’ve only been here two minutes. I’ve known your family a long time, I’m good, baby.”

“I mean about the heart-to-heart with my mom.”

“It was unexpected, but I suppose I should have guessed. Lena was all over the news for a long time.”

“I love you, Reid. I hope you know how worthy you are of a beautiful life with good things.”

“I’m starting to, sweetheart. All because of you.”

We return inside, finding Sawyer and Dallas in a heated debate over whether or not he and Blaire can share an office at the distillery. I don’t know how these four boys have managed to work together and successfully run a massive distillery. It’s surprising one of them hasn’t been murdered and put in a whiskey barrel, never to be seen again.

“You know why, dipshit! You already use your office as a playground when I’ve told you to knock it the hell off!” Sawyer spits.

“I thought we already established we all have done that . . .” Carter interjects, my eyes going wide.

“Wait! Wait a freaking minute. You’re telling me all you four freaks have banged somewhere in our family’s distillery?” I yell. The four of them look at me like kids with their hands caught in a cookie jar.

“Wow. Real classy, you guys.”

“You mean to tell me you’ve never hooked up at Rogue?” Finn says, my brothers’ heads snapping in his direction. Mycheeks flush, but not in embarrassment. Reid’s arm drapes over my shoulder, pulling me in front of him so he can rest it around my collarbone. I relax my back into his strong build and watch as my brothers lose their minds over their precious little sister not being a baby.

“The fuck did you just say?” Sawyer practically growls, making Finn hold up his hands.

“She would never!” Dallas yells.

“How dare you. Our sister is a fucking saint!” Liam adds. Reid makes a choking sound that he quickly clears with a cough. Heads snap back to us, and my hand slaps over my mouth, hiding my smile. Four sets of eyes practically bore a hole into me as my chest starts to shake.

“I assure you, she is no such thing,” Reid says, and I lose it. My laugh erupts out of me, a deep belly laugh that I can’t control.

“Oh for fuck’s sake!” Sawyer says as he throws his hands up in the air. Ivy quickly swoops in, laughing.

“Wow,” I say, wiping the tears from my eyes. “I needed that. I’ve been listening to your stories for so long, and it feels good not to be on the outside looking in. I’m an adult, fuckers, so stop treating me like a baby, or I’ll make sure we make you all real uncomfortable, real quick.”

All four of them nod and give their agreement, and I turn in Reid’s arms, looking up at my man.

“I love you.”

“I love you, sweetheart. It’ll be worth the haymaker he throws at me later.”

I smirk at him just as my mom’s voice echoes through the house, signaling it’s time to come eat.

Dinner is wild, and Reid joins right in like he’s been here all along. It helps that he’s had a solid relationship with everysingle person at the table. When I dreamed what it would be like to bring a man home to my family, I never could have imagined the sense of pride I would feel to have him next to me. But then again, I never in a million years thought that man would be Reid Knight.

“Are you ready for this?”Kinsey asks me as she climbs off the back of my bike in front of my parents’ new house in Seattle. They moved here over a year ago, wanting a fresh start, and I haven’t visited once. Guilt eats away at me, but like Kinsey says, we have limited time in front of us, and we need to live in the present while we have it.

“As ready as I’ll ever be. I’m glad you’re with me.”
