“Patton is trying to hack into the street cams. Hopefully, we can figure out where they were going. The plates on the sedan were stolen, so there’s no way to find out who the car was registered to.”

Why didn’t this surprise me? It seemed that Crosby had thought of everything. I wanted to scream. If I knew it would help, I would have.Think, Reyna, think. It was a long shot, but maybe Hugo was out best bet. Chances were that he had his cell on him. “Davian, you said that you had Crosby’s phone. Can we look through his contacts and see if Hugo’s number is there? Maybe Patton could track where there were going that way.”

“We’ve already thought of that. He isn’t answering the call. But we will keep trying.” Of course, Davian would have thought of that already.

There wasn’t anything more that I could do, so Kenzi and I headed back up the stairs. The adrenaline I felt only moments ago was gone. I wished there was another way that I could speak with Delilah. Davian wouldn’t give up and continue to try Hugo’s phone.

The girls were still sitting on the couch when we got to the living room. Based on the look on my and Kenzi’s faces, they knew something was up. “You two look like you lost your best friend,” Mika said, the happy mood in the room gone.

Kenzi and I plopped down on the leather sectional, totally deflated. I wished I had a magic ball to tell me where Hugo took Delilah. Most certainly, he was taking her to see Crosby, but where? Crosby was smart. There was no way he would expose himself and chance getting arrested.

I could hear the girls carrying on, but my mind was a million miles away. Over and over, I went through what had taken place the last couple of days, trying to remember everything that took place. Nothing during the ride to the cabin gave any indication of what Crosby had planned. Even before Gwen rescued me from the basement, Crosby never let on what his plan was.

As I continued to go over that day in my head, the one person I kept coming back to was Gwen. She was at the cabin before I got there. I wasn’t sure how long, but maybe she overheard something. It bothered me how close Gwen was to Crosby and how she didn’t know what kind of man he was. It just might be that Crosby trusted her enough to tell him his plan.

Pushing from the couch, I left the girls to their conversation and headed back down the stairs. I was desperate, and at this point, I was willing to try anything. Gwen was one person that Davian could get in touch with. She might be the link to finding Delilah.

Patton and Davian were talking to one another when I reached the computer room. I couldn’t hear what was said, but the closer I got to them, I could tell it had to do with the street cams. Patton kept pointing at the computer screen while Davian looked on.

Interrupting their conversation about the street cams, I placed my hand on Davian’s shoulder. When he looked up and met my eyes, I said. “Maybe Gwen overheard something that would give us a clue. She was there when I arrived at the cabin.”

“We were just thinking the same thing. I sent Calvin and Stone to get her and bring her here. I didn’t want to chance her leaving or Crosby getting to her. Even though Mitch is with her, I can’t lose another man.”

When I looked around the room, I saw indeed that Calvin and Stone were gone. Sean’s name came to mind. I still couldn’t believe he was dead. “I miss him. Sean was a good man.”

Davian brought me close and held me tight. “I miss him too, princess.”

A month ago, I would have been livid that Gwen and I would be in the same place, but after what she did for me, for us, I couldn’t bring myself to hate her anymore. With her here, maybe we could finally get to know each other better. We had so much in common—Rui Salko, the McCalls, falling in love with the same man. It would be nice to have another sister.

Gauging Reyna’s reaction after telling her that I sent Calvin and Stone to pick up Gwen from The Four Seasons was impossible. Reyna and Gwen had created some sort of relationship during their time at the cabin. I just didn’t know to what extent. I hoped that bringing Gwen her wouldn’t be a mistake and uncomfortable for Reyna. It was the last thing I wanted for her.

While I held her in my arms, trying to comfort her, Sean’s death hit all of us hard. My concern wasn’t so much his death, but Reyna’s emotions. Holding her at arms-length, I dipped down to meet her eyes. “Are you okay with Gwen staying at the warehouse? Because if you’re not, I can make other arrangements.”

“It will be fine. Maybe we can get to know each other better. I’ve been so caught up in your relationship with her that I haven’t taken into consideration what she must be going through.” I wasn’t sure where that came from, but I was tired of the hatred I had toward her.

“If things get weird between you two…”

“It won’t, Davian,” I interrupted. “I have a feeling we are going to get along just fine.”

Pulling Reyna in for another hug, the sound of the garage door opening caused us both to look toward the door. When Calvin drove the SUV inside, we broke our embrace, and moved toward them. Calvin was the first one to exit before walking to the back passenger door. As he pulled the door open, I knew I would recognize those legs anywhere. Gwen’s heels hit the concrete as she stood to her full five-foot-seven height. Her hair was pulled back in a bun and tucked neatly at her neck. Gwen was a beautiful woman, but not even on her best day could she look more beautiful than Reyna.

Exiting the SUV, Mitch and Marcus rounded the front of the SUV, stopping next to Calvin. Something was off between Calvin and Mitch. Neither one of them seemed to be happy. The look they gave one another was less than welcoming. Something was going on between them, and when I had the chance, I would get them alone and find out. But, for now, I was more concerned about how this reunion between Reyna and Gwen would go.

Maybe I was concerned for no reason. Gwen and Reyna walked toward one another, and when they met, their arms were around each other in a loving embrace. Completely blown away, I never expected this from them. It was a relief to see them come together like this instead of exchanging words.

After Reyna and Gwen had their moment together, all of us headed into the computer room where the rest of the men were waiting. Patton was still trying to hack into Atlanta's street cams. It was a slow process, and we were running out of time. Gwen remembering anything about what Crosby might have said, seemed to be our only chance of finding him and Delilah.

Once everyone found their seats, I pitched the first question. “Gwen, we believe that Delilah and Crosby are working together, and anything you can remember might help us find them. Was there anything that Crosby might have said or that you might have overheard that would give us a clue as to where they may have gone?”

“I don’t know, Davian. Crosby didn’t say much to me except that he was worried about my safety. He had Hugo stay with me at Rui’s place. He showed up later and said he was taking me to the cabin he had outside of Atlanta. I didn’t even know he had a cabin.”

“How about Salko’s place? Would you be able to tell us where it is?” Crosby was out of places to hide. Just maybe this was the break we needed.
