“So, where are we going?” I asked as Davian pulled through the gate.

“As much as I love seeing you in nothing but my t-shirts, it wouldn’t be appropriate for what I have planned.”

I did love wearing his t-shirts and smelling his scent 24/7, but he was right. Besides the clothes I was currently wearing, I didn’t have another change of clothes. It wouldn’t have bothered me at all to stay at the estate and never leave.

Davian’s estate was only a short drive to the city, and already I could feel the excitement of what he had planned. It had been such a long time that we had spent the day out—the last time being the day he proposed to me. It seemed like years ago but had only been a couple of weeks. I only prayed that Crosby was behind bars like Davian had said. I wasn’t sure if I could go through being taken away from Davian again.

Davian pulled the SUV to the curb in front of Neiman Marcus. Before he could cut the engine, I released my seatbelt and pushed open the door. As much as I enjoyed shopping, I wanted to be back at the estate, alone with him. My kitty heels were a mess from the woods as I set my feet onto the sidewalk. Even the layer of shoe polish applied by the staff member Davian hired hadn’t made them look any better.

Davian must have noticed my concern as he looked down at my shoes and then at me. “How about we go inside and find you a new pair of shoes?”

Giggling at his suggestion, I looked down at my feet and said, “They do look pretty bad. I hope no one inside notices them.”

“With the amount of money I plan on spending on you, it would be stupid of them to say anything.”

Taking hold of my hand, Davian gave it a light squeeze while placing a kiss on my cheek. I wasn’t sure how, but he always managed to make me feel better. When we stepped inside the shop, at least I wasn’t the center of attention. Three of the shop’s associates walked our way with their eyes on Davian. Why wouldn’t their eyes be on him? He was gorgeous.

Davian squeezed my hand, letting me know that he was mine and not even the lustful thoughts of the three women approaching us mattered. Fighting for his attention, the woman in the middle shoved the other two associates out of the way. “Good morning, sir. My name is Sherri. What can I help you with?”

Her smile was as fake as could be and by the looks of it, so were her breasts. It wasn’t to say that she wasn’t attractive, but the way she carried herself was a bit overboard. When she approached us, her hips swayed more than a ship on the high sea. And her two counterparts standing behind her looked like they barely had the brains to graduate high school. Who was I to judge, though? They could be smarter than they looked.

“Yes, my fiancée would like to see what you might have in a size 5. I’m sure you ladies can assist her.” Davian smiled, releasing my hand and kissing me on the lips.

The smiles that stretched across their faces disappeared, and the enthusiasm toward Davian deflated. I found it ironic that when Davian added the wordfiancéeto the conversation, the attitude of the three women suddenly turned professional.

“We would love to assist your fiancée. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?” Sherri asked as the other two women left the group.

“Something casual. Maybe something dressy too.” I wasn’t too sure what Davian had planned, so I played it safe.

Sherri led me to the back of the shop where the dressing rooms were and instructed Davian to sit on one of the chairs near the mirrored panels just outside the rooms. This setting was perfect because not only could I see how I looked, but Davian could too.

Sherri handed me my first outfit, a mint green pantsuit with cropped pants and a double-breasted vest that gathered in the back. It was classy and something I could see myself wearing. As I finished buttoning the last button, a knock came at the door.

“I think these will look great with that pantsuit,” Sherri said through the closed door.

Pulling the door open, I took the cutest pair of kitty heels I had ever seen. They were white with teardrop cutouts at the heel—one on each side. A perfectly tied bow made of leather sat on the top just above the pointed toe.

When I placed them on the floor and slipped into them, I wasn’t surprised that they were a perfect fit. Every thought I initially had of Sherri went out the door with the ensemble she picked out for me. She definitely knew her stuff.

As I stepped out of the dressing room, Sherri was there to offer her expertise. “You look amazing. Your fiancé will love it.”

“You really think so?”

“I do.” Sherri’s eyes gleamed with sincerity, a much better look on her than before. “I’m really sorry about earlier. It was unprofessional.”

“No need to apologize. Davian has that effect on women.”

After sharing a bout of laughter, Sherri and I headed away from the dressing area to where Davian was seated. When I reached the viewing area, Davian had a smile on his face from ear to ear. He didn’t have to say a word for me to know that he approved. Leaving him with a smile, I turned to face one of the mirrors and took myself in. I had to admit, I looked gorgeous in this outfit. Today would be the best day ever.

Designer bags with clothes from every shop imaginable filled the back of the SUV. I couldn’t believe the amount of money Davian had spent on me. His excuse was that he wanted to give me everything and that he would give me the world if he could. But, little did he know, I didn’t care about any of it. All I cared about was him and spending the rest of my life loving him.

When we pulled up to the house, Theo was waiting for us at the door. I could only assume that Davian had contacted him to let him know we were on our way home and that he would need his assistance unloading the SUV.

I opened the passenger door and headed to the back of the SUV. There was only one bag that I wanted to retrieve, and that was the one with the cute bikini Davian had bought for me. The afternoon sun was hot, and all I could think about was a refreshing dip in the pool.
