Davian was right. All I wanted was to enjoy his company. And as he said, this day was for us, and I didn’t want Gwen to ruin that. When we entered the elevator, Davian pulled my body close to his. Something about how he held me managed to cause my neurons to fire one sexual synapse after the other. Yeah, he did that to me. If I hadn’t wanted to get out so badly, I would have suggested we cuddle up on the couch and watch sappy romance movies. Maybe even take a break to exercise some of those love scenes on our own.
The door to the elevator opened, and I tucked those thoughts away for later. Once the elevator stopped, we headed toward the lobby. Reminded of how energetic Atlanta was, my love for the city seeped in. It seemed like people always had somewhere to be. Groups of men and women wearing expensive and designer dresses occupied the lobby, probably to attend some sort of event or convention. I wondered if I would be among those women once I graduated college. Studying business economics had always been my dream. Maybe if I worked hard, someday I would own my own business.
Davian ushered me out of the hotel, where his Mercedes waited for us at the curb. I never heard him call the valet to bring his car around. He must have done while I was either in the shower or getting dressed. With the valet's assistance, I dipped my body onto the passenger seat as Davian rounded the front of the car. Pulling away from the hotel entrance, we still hadn’t decided where to go.
Stopping before he pulled out onto the street, Davian turned toward me and asked, “So where would you like to go first?”
I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go. Thinking more about it, the only place that came to mind was the aquarium. Even though I had been there before when I was in high school, on one of our class field trips, I felt like I missed out on seeing everything it offered since I had to stay with the class and wasn’t allowed to wander.
With enthusiasm, I smiled at Davian and said, “I would love to go to the Georgia Aquarium first. And then if we could… I mean, if you think it’s safe, I would like to go to GSU to get the books for my online classes.”
“I think that could be arranged,” Davian smiled. “Let’s go to the university first. Do you have an idea what books you need?” Davian surprised me. I thought for sure he would object to going to GSU.
“I do. I have a confession,” I admitted hesitantly. “For the past week, I’ve been staring at my schedule, wondering how I would get the books I needed since no one was supposed to know where I was. I couldn’t very well have them delivered. Getting out and doing something is a great surprise.”
“I know how important your education is to you. I don’t want you ever to think you can’t come to me if you need something.” Davian couldn’t have been more sincere.
Inching out into traffic, Davian headed toward Georgia State, and already I felt the excitement of being at the college again. Placing my hand on Davian’s thigh, I waited until he was able to look at me before I voiced my appreciation. “Thank you for doing this for me.”

As we walked toward the student center, I couldn’t help but notice the women we passed were distracted by Davian’s good looks. His hand was holding mine, and I was glad that he was all mine. One girl was so smitten by Davian’s good looks that instead of watching where she was walking, she ended up off the sidewalk and on the grass, nearly falling on her ass. Inside I was laughing. Davian was oblivious to all the women practically drooling over him. Yeah. He was all mine, and I had a beautiful engagement ring to prove it.
Entering the student center, I led Davian past the vending machines and the study area next to the bookstore, where several students sat. I wasn't sure if Davian had ever been here before, so like a mother leading a child, I pulled him in the direction I needed to go. When we entered the bookstore, several students were milling around the aisles of books, a few of which I recognized. Instead of stopping to say hello, all I wanted was to get the books I needed and get out of here. Spending the day at the aquarium was all I could think about. Having had a mental note of the books I needed, finding the books for my online classes took no time at all
Placing six books along with three highlighters of different colors, a package of mechanical pencils, and seven one-subject notebooks on the counter, I waited for the clerk to finish up with another customer. Davian was already reaching for his wallet to pay for my books, and there was no way I could let him do that.
Pulling the wallet from his hand, I said, “Davian, you don’t have to pay for my books. I have an account that Crosby set up for me to pay for all my college expenses. So put this away.”
“You know that is going to change,” he said as I handed his wallet back to him.
My focus switched back to the female clerk behind the counter. I thought for sure she was going to fall on her face when Davian smiled—looking every bit the handsome man he was. Moments ago, she didn’t seem to have any problem ringing up the student’s purchase, but for some reason, she couldn’t find the right keys for my purchase.
“I’m sorry for the delay,” she uttered, giving Davian an exaggerated smile. “But I think something is going on with this register.”Yeah, right. It was called a lust-induced unconscious brain fart.
Thanking Davian by fluttering her lashes, we walked away from the bimbo with nearly one thousand dollars in books and supplies—me carrying the light bag of supplies while Davian took the rest. Such a gentleman.
Leaving the student center, I could have offered to show Davian more of the campus, but I wanted to get to the aquarium. We would be surrounded by people, but still, I looked forward to spending the day with him and receiving his full attention.
When we were close to his car, Davian pulled the key fob from his pocket and pressed the trunk button. He released my hand and took the bag I was holding from me. Once the trunk was closed and the books were safely inside, Davian spun me around and placed his mouth over mine. The passionate kiss couldn’t have come at a better time. I wasn’t opposed to PDA, especially since it informed the three female students that walked by that Davian was completely off-limits. They couldn’t see it, but inside I was doing a happy dance, among other things.
Davian's eyes switched from me back to the women, his curiosity for my happy attitude evident. “What are you thinking about? You look like you just won the lottery.”
“In a way, I did. I have you, after all,” I said as I pulled him closer and placed a kiss on his lips.
“And I have you, princess,” he declared, making me realize how lucky I was.

My heart was filled with so much love for Reyna even before her comment, which only added to the love I had for her. If I hadn’t promised to take her to the Georgia Aquarium, I would have turned the car around and headed back to the hotel to show just how much she was mine. I only wished that the dilemma with Crosby McCall and Rui Salko was behind us. Thinking about Salko made me realize that there hadn’t been any word on him for some time. I was also concerned that Reyna’s mom seemed to have fallen off the radar as well. Today was Reyna’s day, but the second I got back to the hotel, I would mention my concerns to Patton.
The minute I pulled up to the aquarium, Reyna’s excitement tripled. She unfastened her seatbelt before I could place the car in park. “I think my fiancée is a little excited,” I joked affectionately, reveling in her excitement
“I like how fiancée rolls off your tongue. It’s nice.” Giving me a full-blown smile, Reyna leaned over and placed her lips on mine. “Come on. This is going to be fun.”
I wished I had her enthusiasm. Looking at reptiles wasn't exactly my definition of fun. Having her beneath me, balls deep inside her, now that would be beyond fun.
