ALANNAH
I was getting more anxious by the minute waiting for Roman to come to my room. When he told me he needed to talk, I realized there was something I needed to tell him as well. Staring down at the picture, I couldn’t help but wonder who the woman was. There was no clue given to tell when the picture was taken or how old the picture was. If I had to guess it couldn’t have been very old.
Hearing a knock on the door made my heart jump. Hurrying to the door, I was never so glad to see Roman on the other side. It had been so long since we were alone together, I didn’t know how to react. When he pulled me into his arms, it was only natural for me to wrap my arms around him. When he placed his lips on mine, I couldn’t help but soak him in. I didn’t realize just how much I really missed him.
“We need to move inside, Lanie,” Roman breathed between kisses.
Unable to break from our connection, Roman lifted me from the floor and walked me over to the bed. I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist and the connection we had was something I never wanted to break. When he placed me on the bed, I had no other choice but to set him free. I was unaware I was still holding onto the picture until Roman took it from my hand. “Who is this, Lanie?”
“I don’t know, but I was hoping you did.” I looked up at him, trying to gauge his reaction.
“If I didn’t know better, I would have thought it was you.”
When he handed the picture back to me, I looked down at the woman, searching for answers. “I found it in the playroom earlier, when you and Martin came looking for me. I saw you with him on the path and as much as I wanted to tell you I was there, I couldn’t.”
“It was good that you didn’t. There is something about Martin that I don’t trust. He is hiding something. Maybe whatever it is, it has something to do with this picture.”
Handing it back over to Roman, I knew that he had more resources than I did to find out who the woman was. “Maybe you could find the answers from this picture.”
Putting the picture in his pocket, he looked over to me with a concerned look. “As I said before, Lanie, I don’t trust Martin. Be very careful of him.”
I didn’t believe that Martin was as bad as Roman thought him to be. All that he had ever shown me was kindness and compassion. There was no way that he could have been hiding anything. The only thing that had me concerned was the picture I found, but even then, I was certain there had to be a reasonable explanation for it.
There was a moment of silence as we stared at each other, but during the quietness we knew what was about to happen. Placing his hand on my cheek, Roman lowered his mouth to mine. The kiss was tender and there was nothing that felt more right. As he pulled me closer, I soon straddled his lap, feeling the onset of his arousal. Desperate to feel more of him, I pulled and tugging at his shirt, doing everything I could to get it off. We were like two animals, urgent with need, going at each other as we continued to remove each other’s clothes.
The heat of his body seeped into mine as he pushed me back onto the bed. Positioning his body between my legs, he held his body above mine and I could have sworn that he could see into my soul as he gazed down at me. “As much as I want to take this slow, I don’t think we have much time.”
Gliding his cock along my folds, he slowly entered me. As much as I wanted to revel in this feeling, I knew he was right. At any moment Martin could be on the other side of the door. Spreading my legs wider to give him more access, Roman filled me with pure satisfaction as he pushed deeper inside me. I was lost in pure bliss, wanting this moment to never end. Sliding his hand between our bodies, he teased me with his fingers, bringing more pleasure. My walls tightened around his cock as I tried to hold back my release. When he increased his movements, I was at his mercy and the only thing I could do was surrender to him. Filling the room with moans of pleasure, my body shuddered, coating his shaft with my womanly juices. Roman’s moans of pleasure collided with mine in an unyielding inferno of complete euphoria.
The heat of Roman’s body comforted mine as we laid beside each other completely sated. I wasn’t sure how long we remained in this state, unable to move, but knew every minute that passed, we were taking a chance that Martin would find us together. As much as I wanted him to stay, Roman moved from the bed and got dressed.
Fully dressed, he walked beside the bed. It wasn’t hard to see that he felt the same way I did. Before he could say a word, I pushed to a sitting position. “Let’s just leave. Martin must be asleep, otherwise he would have knocked on the door by now.”
Taking a seat beside me, he took hold of my hand. “More than anything I want to take you away from here, but we need to wait until the time is right. Be patient, Lanie.”
I trusted Roman and knew he would know when the time was right. Giving me a quick kiss, I watched him walk out of my room, closing the door behind him. Even though it was late, there was no way I could ever sleep.

ROMAN
More than anything I wanted to swoop Lanie in my arms and take her away from this house and Martin. I knew that the minute he found us gone, he would stop at nothing to find us. There was no way I would allow Lanie to live like that, always looking over her shoulder wondering if he had found her.
There was just enough lighting in the hallway to find my way back to my room. The door to Martin’s room was closed so I knew it was safe as I walked past it. Opening the door to my room, I flicked the light on. Sitting in a chair near the window like he was part of the décor, I could feel Martin’s eyes burn into me. “Somehow I get the feeling he had an ulterior motive in staying the night, other than not wanting to drive in the dark.”
As he rose to his feet, there was nothing I could say to him. He read me well, and even if I tried, there was no way I could hide the look on my face after being with Lanie. Unbuttoning my shirt, I avoided looking at him as I asked, “What do you want, Martin?”
“I think it would be better for both of us if you packed up your thing and left. The last thing Lanie needs is to fall in love with a man who does not understand what she needs.”
There was no way I would justify what he said. He was wrong on all levels. I knew exactly what Lanie needed. The last thing she needed was Martin. Who was he to decide? The more I digested what he said the angrier I got. Turning to face him, my eyes seared into his. “How could you possibly know what Lanie needs?”
When his eyes fell to my feet, I looked down and saw that the picture that Lanie had given me had fallen out of my pocket. What were the chances that it would fall face up revealing the woman who looked just like Lanie? Pushing to his feet, his eyes never left the floor. His voice was cold as I bent down to pick it up. “Where did you get that? You had no right taking it.”
Ripping it from my hand, he stared at the picture like it had a spell over him. “She meant everything to me,” he began. His tone softer than a few moments ago. “Her name was Isabelle. She was one of Winston’s girls. The minute I saw her, I knew I had to make her mine.”
I wanted to ask who she was, but held back and listened to what he had to say. “I had gone too far with her training. She never said a word. Always obedient. A true submissive. If only she had used her safe word, she would still be here today. How was I to know that the tie around her throat was cutting off her air more and more every time she pushed against me? My emotions got in the way and I ended up killing her.”
I had sympathy for him. To lose a submissive, knowing that you were the cause, was a dominant’s worst fear. Being what it was, I couldn’t help but ask. “What does this woman have to do with Lanie?”
