X’s head popped up from between his arms. “So you didn’t deflower her?”
I screwed up my face. “I don’t think women like that term.”
X pushed up onto his feet, dusting his hands off on the back of his pants, and glared at Whip. “Wait a minute. So you didn’t sleep with her… So you, what? Rejected her?” His anger-filled eyes switched to stare me down before looking back at Whip. “Should we just start calling you Levi now? You asshole. She’s not good enough for you now either? Is that it?”
Whip blinked. “What? I never said that.”
“Then why didn’t you sleep with her? She’s beautiful and sweet, and you’d be lucky to have her!”
I squinted at him. “Weren’t you just mad when you thought hedidsleep with her though?”
“I have very complicated feelings on the matter, Levi!”
“Clearly,” I muttered, just glad that for once it wasn’t me in the middle of an argument.
Whip ignored both of us, waving around the envelope. “Can we get back to what I actually came here to tell you?” His grin grew smug. “Which was not how good Violet’s pussy tastes.”
My mouth dropped open. “You piece of shit.”
“My rage is back.” X paced away a few steps, then he turned to me and held his arms out.
I backed up. “I don’t know what you’re doing, but I don’t like it.”
“Yoga didn’t work. Grayson said hugs might. I need a hug right now to deal with the mortal wound Whip just inflicted on me.”
That wasn’t happening. “No thanks.”
“Hug me, Levi.”
“I will pull my gun if you take so much as half a step closer to me.”
Whip rolled his eyes. “Jesus Christ, I don’t know how you’re still breathing, X.”
“Through my lungs.”
Whip ignored him and looked at me. “I’m just going to read the letter.”
“For the love of all things holy, please do.”
Whip opened the unsealed envelope and took out the piece of paper inside. “I wanted Gray to be here for this, and maybe I should have brought the others in too, but it seems directed at the three of us in particular, so maybe it’s better you two hear it first.”
I frowned. “It’s directed at me? I’ve only been associated with the group a hot minute.”
Whip nodded. “Listen and decide for yourself.
