“Fanucci’s fucking son?! Do you know what the fuck you just did?” she asked, waving her gun around.

“Yes, I do, and I’m ready for whatever consequences that may come along with it. You raised me, so I know how to protect myself,” Jaci told her and folded her arms under her chest.

Athena looked my way. “And where the fuck were you and Hellcat when all this shit took place?” I didn’t want to rat out Jaci, so I took the fall.

“Inside the warehouse, but she was in the car.” That was all I could say because I didn’t want to make shit worse.

Athena shook her head like she was stressed. “Well, what’s done is done, and whatever happens after that, we will handle it. Welcome home to the chaos you created, Jaci, and I hope you ready because shit is about to get reckless. You know what the fuck it is. Go get yo’ shit and let’s go because I want my truck home. If you want to come back, take yo’ own damn car or another one. You know this is my favorite,” she told Jaci.

She walked off to the stairs to get dressed.

“Look at ya, take ya walk of shame with yo’ head held high. Ain’t no need to be embarrassed now. I knew this shit was gon happen anyway.” She winked at me as Jaci walked up the steps.

Once Jaci was out of earshot, Athena turned to me.

“Why the fuck was she even near any of the clubs and warehouses?” I knew she was mad because of the crease in her forehead.

“The club shit was when we were on our way to the mall, and we got a tip that those fucking mutts were moving product through the club, and you know Hellcat wasn’t going for that,” I told her. “She caught Thiago trying to run and slit his throat. The shit at the warehouse, we didn’t even know she knew about the fucking meeting until she walked in that bitch with Thiago’s head, then shit went left.” I told her the truth.

“What fucking meeting?” she asked.

“We set up a meeting with the Point Dawgs and came to some type of agreement written in black and white, then Jaci’s ass walked in there with their brother’s head, and all hell broke loose,” I told her, and she took a deep breath.

“Fuck it. At this point, we know what we gotta do. She knows what consequences come with being in a war, but this shit started long before all this shit happened. It started with Melph and Wisdom,” she stated, and I was even more confused by that.

I didn’t ask any questions because Jaci was coming down the stairs. She was fully dressed, with her purse and phone in hand. She paused when she got in front of me. Then, she stood on her toes and kissed my lips before rolling her eyes at Athena and walking out back to the truck.

“She gon’ meet you in the front. Let me walk you out,” I told her, and she followed me out the door.

“We need a meeting soon because I know what y’all think I don’t know. The picture that y’all saw of Melph was sent to me, too.”

She left me with that and hopped in the car with Jaci, and they left my house. I walked back inside, trying to figure out the fucking motive for all this shit that was happening. I was starting to think that Melph had something to do with all this shit. I was sitting on it today, but tomorrow, we needed to come together for a meeting on our next move.

Chapter 19

Calliope

Kidnapping.

I repeated that shit in my head over twenty times. This wasn’t what the fuck I did. I ran a money laundering and gambling ring. I didn’t fucking steal people. Hellcat should have left this girl where the fuck she was because I didn’t want to bring her to my house, and she looked scared as fuck of me when she shouldn’t be.

This was the type of shit I hated about living this life because the shit was full of surprises. I couldn’t kill her because Jaci had already killed her fucking brother, and I wasn’t trying to have a woman’s blood on my hands. I had walked around her body five times since everybody left. I had to wait for the sun to set to even carry her ass out to my car because I didn’t want anyone to see. Crackheads, dope fiends, or even hookers to see shit because they would snitch to anybody for a fix, and we didn’t need that type of heat.

I looked down at my watch and noticed it was 8:00 p.m. The sun was starting to set, and I knew I could move her soon. Her eyes followed me everywhere I walked. I stopped in front of her, rubbing my hands through my braids. I took a good look at her. She was beautiful. Chestnut complexion, blue eyes, and curlyhair. I couldn’t really see her body because she was sitting down, but I knew she had one. Why the fuck would Hellcat put me in this shit? Furthermore, why would he have niggas go to another country and kidnap this innocent woman?

I could tell by the look she gave me that she didn’t even know where the fuck she was. I didn’t believe in taking or killing women, but Hellcat didn’t give a fuck, and I was always left to pick up the pieces. He was probably busting down a bitch, and I was stuck with a beautiful stranger. I walked closer to her, and she looked up at me, scared. Spit and slob ran down the tape that was on her mouth. I knew it would come off soon. My stomach crawled at seeing that shit, but I didn’t have anything to wipe her mouth with, and my jacket was off limits. I backed up a little but was within hearing distance from her. She reeked of piss, and I wondered how long she had been in this fucking building.

“If I take this tape off yo’ mouth, will you scream?”

I knew it was a stupid question, but I needed to see if she would be honest. She shook her head up and down. Fuck, at least she was honest.

“Well, I guess you gon’ be here all night. I’m about to dip,” I told her, walking away.

She tried to move the chair to get my attention. I turned around and went to her.

“If you scream, your head will be like your brother’s, and you will feel everything like he did,” I threatened.

She nodded in agreement with me. Tears flowed from her eyes, and it somewhat softened my hard heart. I couldn’t feel sorry for her because I didn’t know what the fuck was going on, and from the looks of it, she didn’t know either. Hellcat had me in some shit that I didn’t even know about. He was bringing unwanted heat to the city that I couldn’t afford.
