Of course, all of the meddling had steered the storylines wildly off path from the traumatic, emotional train wreck that was the Heroine of Justice’s original journey.
The fact that the Dark Lord had married the Heroine of Justice, the necromancer was about to marry the paladin, and the commander general of the Dark Horde was currently walking hand in hand with the bard through the gates of the capital city of North Sumbria was proof of that.
Almost everyone who could be shipped had been shipped. And everyErrorwas a hard-won victory.
It had taken a lot of work to survive this far … but as long as everyone got their much-deserved Happily Ever After, then it would all be worth it.

Of all the places I’d visited in Valaria, North Sumbria felt the most likehome.
Living in a video game set in a mythical blend of eastern and western medieval fantasy meant I’d spent a lot of time searching for the creature comforts of my old world … and this was about as close as I was going to get.
Courtesy of Grand Duchess Calisto, North Sumbria had paved roads, magical streetlamps, elevators, and public transportation. Mana-fueled construct carriages worked much the same as cars, and magic did wonders on the suspension.
I heard my name, and I turned to my travel companions.
