“I’ve looked into the kid, but there’s nothing that stands out as troublesome.”
“Then again, we did not know about this client stalking him,” Henri commented.
Goddamn, that was true.
“Not like we can track all employees outside of work,” Saint said. “They need to come to us for help.”
“But it is as I said,” Adrick stated.
That Sawyer got a lot of attention.
“Henri, check in with Sawyer when he comes into work tomorrow,” Country said. “For now, we’ll have to table this and get Polished back open. The cleanup should be done by now.” He turned to me. “I was heading to your office earlier. Any updates?”
“One. We hacked a satellite to check all boats in the ocean against their routes heading to the US. There are two that started from Australia who never logged their trip. Two we’ll keep an eye on and see where their destination could be.”
“We need that information before they even port so we can get onboard.”
As if I didn’t fucking know that. But instead of saying anything, I clenched my jaw and nodded.
“There is a month to follow their trail. Blaze and Tech will figure it all out, and we will help these people,” Henri offered.
Country sighed. “I know, Henri.”
“You are stressed. You should go see your Dusty and Seth.”
His lips lifted in the corner, but I could still see the tension in his gaze. “Yeah, I’m headin’ home as soon as Wreck arrives.” He turned to me again. “Keep me updated.”
With a grunt, I tipped my chin up.
Henri’s phone rang when Country walked out of the room. He glanced at the screen and over to me then Saint. “The agent. Cross your fingers.”
I didn’t move, but Saint humored him by crossing them on both hands.
“Bonjour, Nathaniel.” Henri looked down as he bit his bottom lip, listening, and then grinned, his gaze seeking mine. “Oui, that is fantastic news. We will be in touch to sign the papers tomorrow and get a wire transfer organized. … Oui, see you then.” He tucked his phone away and ran at me. He jumped, and I caught him in my arms. “We have the warehouse, mon amour.”
“Good.”
He kissed me hard and quick before dropping his feet and spinning to Saint. “The Playhouse is a go. We need to see the bank to open a new joint business account between us all managers and organize the money for the seller.”
“Then let’s take a trip to the bank,” Saint said.
There were some daylight hours still left. I wasn’t sure it’d get done that day since we’d have to register the new business, but it could be sorted soon.
Henri faced me. “Mon amour, are we staying here tonight too? If so, Tech failed to bring the right bathroom items. I will need a trip home. Saint could take me while we are out seeing the bank people.”
For me, he was willing to sleep on the couch again.
But I could tell that he’d woken with a stiff neck. Not that he’d said anything.
“We’ll go home.” In fact, I wanted to go there now. “I’ll drive us to the bank to meet Saint there and then take us home.”
Henri’s head cocked to the side.
Fuck.
He’d figure out what I didn’t want to say since it’d just end in a fight.
“Mon amour?”
