Jeff leaned back on the couch, still hard and hungry. God, I felt like such an idiot.

“Is everything okay?” he asked.

“No.”

“Because you can say so if there is. You won’t hurt my feelings.”

“Nothing’s wrong.”

“I’m pushing you into this too fast. You’re not ready. I’m sorry, I just got caught up in the moment. I won’t push you into anything you’re not?—”

I reached out, grasped his wrist, and said, “It’s totally okay. It’s not you or anything. Just nerves, I guess.”

He nodded like he agreed. Of course, that was total bullshit. Not that telling the truth would’ve helped anything. Jeff’s cock remained hard and ready, and I’d yanked the rug out from under the poor guy.

“I hope you won’t take this the wrong way,” I said.

“No way, man. I’d be lying if I said I had much experience at this.”

“Me neither.”

“I should’ve been smarter about this.”

“I’m telling you, don’t blame yourself. Look, it doesn’t have to be all bad. I can suck you off if you want, relieve some tension.”

He shook his head. “That’s okay. If we’re going to do anything, we should both benefit from it.”

“You sure?”

He nodded.

I did want to blow him, awkward moment or not. At the very least, I didn’t want to blue-ball the poor guy because I couldn’t get it up. Worse, I couldn’t strike Levi Dunn from my mind, and I had no idea how to cure that problem. Levi had succeeded in ruining my life even when he wasn’t in the room with me.

Jeff stood up, stepped back into his underwear, and stuffed his wilting cock inside. Then he pulled his jeans up and sat back on the couch. The smile that appeared on his face reassured me.

“I’m okay,” he said. “Really.”

“I know.”

“We can wait for the physical part, you know. I probably shouldn’t have done what I did.”

“I keep telling you, it’s okay.”

I scooted up beside him on the couch, and his arms closed around me. Then I shut my eyes, wanting to leave all my worries behind.

“By the way,” he said, “didn’t you want to ask me something?”

“Getting home a little late, aren’t you?” I asked Quinn as he stepped through the door, looking ready to dart upstairs.

“A little.”

“And you’re not going to stop and talk to me?”

Quinn glanced at the stairs like he wanted nothing more than to go right to his room. But I’d made it my business to change his mind.
