I step out of the shower and wrap a towel around my waist. The minute I’m in the hallway, a heavenly scent hits my nostrils. Is she cooking? Maybe she whipped up something to take to the warehouse. I don’t know why, because Jesse always has enough food to feed an army.

But my girl does like to be helpful.

I get dressed and head out to the kitchen to see if she’s ready. What I find stops me in my tracks.

Her head remains down as she sits on the floor wearing nothing but the chain necklace I bought for her. The table is set for two. It looks delicious but not as good as the beautiful woman kneeling before me.

I pull my phone out of my pocket and send Jackson a text to let him know we’re not going to make it tonight.

When I step toward her, I see her breath pick up. I crouch down and tip her chin with my knuckle. Her gaze rises slowly, beautifully.

As soon as her eyes meet mine, I’m reminded how much I love this woman. I can’t wait to make her my wife.

“What do we have here?” I ask, trailing my fingertips over her neckline with one hand while keeping her chin in my other.

A shy grin pulls at her mouth, and she automatically tries to dip her head, but I don’t let her. It’s the cutest thing ever.

“I wanted to do something nice for you. You know, because you’re you.”

I lean forward and lightly kiss the corner of her lips. “Thank you. It smells wonderful.” I push my nose into her neck, letting her know I don’t just mean the food on the table.

Her entire body shivers.

I stand and take a seat at the table while she remains on the floor beside me. It doesn’t feel right, so I lean over and grab the end of the chain. It instantly cinches around her delicate throat. I tug on it gently. “Stand.”

She rises to her feet, and then I pull her to sit on my lap. “I would love to feed you, but you are too precious to leave sitting on the cold kitchen floor.”

My words make her smile, and she wraps herself around me. “I love you,” she whispers in my ear.

We spend the rest of the evening together, doing all of my favorite things.

She’s lying on my chest with a sleepy smile on her face as I play with her hair. “Let’s go and see your parents this weekend.”

She lifts her head. “Really?”

I nod, loving the look on her face. “I know you have to miss them.”

Her eyes fill with tears. “I do. They really are the best.”

“And when we’re there, I want to set a wedding date.”

She stops breathing, and when she blinks, tears spill over her cheeks.

“I meant, do you want to?” Fuck, maybe I’m being too pushy. I guess I thought the proposal was quick, so the wedding would be too.

“Can I give you my answer tomorrow?”

I’m not going to lie. My heart sinks, but I don’t want to make her feel bad about it. Everything has been happening so fast, I can’t blame her for wanting to slow it down a bit. I’m being selfish.

“Yeah, no worries. If you want to wait, that’s fine too. I just thought your parents would be there with their schedules. You know what, forget I even mentioned it. We’ll know when the time is right.”

Her hand rests against my cheek, pulling my attention from my racing thoughts. “I would marry you tomorrow if I could,” she whispers across my face.

I let out a laugh. What a relief. She must be worried about talking with her parents. “You had me worried there for a minute.”

She doesn’t smile. Instead, she hops to her knees and straddles me. Then, she pins my hands above my head with both of hers. Her nose drops to mine. “You listen to me, Brody. I’m already yours. Don’t ever doubt my love for you again.”

As Daisy stares at me, it’s hard to describe, but I can see the fire in her blood. It’s in that golden ring that separates the hazel of her eyes. She’s sweet and submissive, but also sassy and sinful. I love all of her equally.
