“Come on,” Remy laughs as we walk out of the back room.Once we have the bags and Tris’ ashes, Clay steps onto the plane.

“Hey!”I say happily.

“Hey, sweetheart,” he says as he hugs me.“I’m so sorry about Tris.”

“Hear someone tried to shoot me at her funeral?”I ask.

“Mhmm.They figure it out?”

“No.”I frown.“I think I have a guess, though.”

“Oh?”

“Someone I worked with at the club. His name is Omar.It doesn’t make any sense why he would try to kill me, but it’s the only thing that makes sense. He disappeared right before I was shot and was in the back.I’ve also tried to call him twice and he rejected my call both times. He’s literally never done that,” I explain.

“Well, fuck him,” Clay says.“Let’s go grab some food and we can go to the office.”

“Food sounds amazing,” I remark.

“I already ate, but I could probably eat again,” Cam says casually.A blush heats my cheeks that I can’t hide with Clay looking at me.He narrows his eyes at me and I fold.

“Stop it,” I complain.

“Stop what?”Clay asks simply.

“Staring at me.”

“Sorry, can’t help it,” he smiles.

“Can we go?”I ask impatiently.

“Go on,” he laughs. When I step past him, he pokes me in the side, making me squeal and jump away.

“Now I remember why I hated when you three were together,” I say.Clay moved here when he was seventeen, but they were pretty close. They still are, just from a distance. It makes me curious if they trust him enough to know about me and Cam.I assume so, considering Cam made a joke about it, knowing I could react that way.

Chapter Twenty-Two

Lorelei

Wearesittingatthe large conference room table, and I am focused on my laptop as I type.We finished one meeting, and the next will start after a while.Hands start massaging my neck and I groan as I drop my head and relax.I notice right away that it’s Clay, but I don’t stop him.

“Feel good?”Clay chuckles.

“Sounds like it does,” Cam remarks.

“Bite me, Cam,” I sigh.I gasp and jump up when he actually stands and advances on me.

“What’s wrong?”Cam asks with a grin.

“Psycho,” I say.He narrows his eyes and backs me into a corner.“Cam.Cameron.There’s…”

Cam grabs my face and kisses me, and I can’t help but melt. When he pulls away, I smack his arm.“We told him, Lori,” Cam says.“Cute seeing you blush, though.”

“I’m uncomfortable,” I laugh nervously.

“You’re going to be more uncomfortable if you smart off to me again,” Cam warns.

“That’s one way to get your sister to stop being a brat,” Clay laughs.“Just fuck her real good.”
