“Once the ice melts, that beacon falls into the lake. Then it’s summer, and we celebrate. I can’t wait. I need some vitamin D that doesn’t come from a medicine bottle.” Brooks turned to him with a smile. “At least the view doesn’t suck.”

“No. It doesn’t suck at all. It’s beautiful here.”

“I tend to take it for granted, but it’s nice seeing it through our visitors’ eyes. I’m gonna head back inside. You’re welcome to stay out here. Hopefully, the lights will come back before the rain moves in.”

Tyler let his eyes drift back over the lake and the mountains and up to the sky. “Yeah. Thank you.”

“Sure thing.” Brooks left him in peace, and it really did feel like peace.

Tyler waitedfor the aurora borealis to reappear for thirty minutes before it got too chilly to endure. He let the moonlight lead him back to the cabin.

Seeing the aurora was enough to convince him to take advantage of his spring break. He needed to shed the sadness and embarrassment about his breakup, forget Francis, and move on.

As he passed the sauna, their cabin towering in front of him, he heard a noise. A choking sound.

His pulse sped up as he looked for the source.

It happened again, but this time with a light laugh.

Tyler’s body reacted before his mind. His face went hot. His heart jumped into his throat. He immediately stepped into the shadows of the spruce trees and out of the moonlight.

He spotted the culprits. Leo, Rosie, and Dean were on the second-story balcony. There was a lamp on in the bedroom, backlighting them. They had three steaming mugs lined up on the balcony railing, and they were all bundled up with blankets and hats. They didn’t have the outdoor heater on, but the chill in the air certainly hadn’t deterred their extracurriculars.

Dean was on his knees for Leo and had been the source of the choking sound.

Rosie was observing from a chair, and Tyler heard her voice, light and amused, but he couldn’t make out the words.

Tyler started shaking. It was from the chill.

Probably. Maybe.

Even though he didn’t feel cold at all anymore.

Leo let out a muffled sort of shout, and seconds later, Dean sat back on his heels.

Oh God. Tyler needed to stop watching.

It was no skin off his nose if Rosie liked to watch her partner get sucked off by other dudes. To each their own. It was pretty hot from where he was standing and surely hotter up close.

Tyler took a deep breath and made his way out of his hidey-hole in the trees. But as Tyler stepped back onto the path, Dean knee-walked toward Rosie and dove under the blanket that was thrown over her lap.

She tipped her head back, and the lamplight from their room gilded her neck in gold.

Tyler scurried behind another tree and closed his eyes. The bark was rough against his back. His cock was so hard it hurt.

Tyler felt… confused. Rosie was his best friend, and yeah, they didn’t talk about their sex lives, but the fact that she was getting eaten out by Dean Humphries on a balcony was a bit of a surprise. But what confused him the most was how turned on he was.

Tyler was a dyed-in-the-wool gay guy, but proficiency was sexy. And if Rosie’s soft, happy sounds were any indication, Dean was proficient as fuck.

Was that what this vacation was for them? A chance to fool around?

Was it going to be a big secret they kept from him for the whole freaking week?

He hated that thought.

It was too much. Too much to process. And frankly, now he didn’t care because he could hear Rosie’s increasingly desperate noises.
