But Sarg, of all people, didn’t let him. Sarg grasped Dean’s hair and steadily pushed deeper and deeper into his throat until Dean couldn’t do anything besides focus on his breathing and react to the astonishing sensation of Tyler’s lips around his cock. Dean was nothing but a circuit of exposed nerves and a scary, screaming desire to hold Tyler closer.

Dean came embarrassingly fast, Tyler’s satisfied purr as he swallowed Dean’s jizz echoing around them. Sarg followed him over, hitting Dean’s chin and neck as Dean lost his ability to hold his own head up.

ChapterSeventeen

Sarg left as quicklyand enigmatically as he’d appeared, giving Tyler a fleeting kiss and both of them a “Thanks, fellas” on the way out. Tyler’s body felt noodly and heavy, but Dean’s was all elbows and clenched muscles.

“Are you okay?” Tyler asked after too many minutes of what should have been restful silence.

Tyler had had a threesome! It hadn’t sucked!

Then Sarg had left, and it wasn’t awkward. There had been no uncomfortable small talk or cuddling or emotions.

Tyler was ecstatic, but Dean’s tension was ruining the vibe.

“Yeah. Sorry. I’m—” Dean shook his head as he used a nearby towel, damp from them drying off after the hot tub, to wipe the stickiness off his face and neck. Tyler leaned in and kissed Dean’s cheek.

Dean froze and relaxed on a shudder, so Tyler kept kissing him. His ear, his neck, the tiny scar above his lip.

“Thank you,” Dean whispered as Tyler nuzzled his shoulder. The attention seemed to be helping Dean come down from the experience, so Tyler didn’t see any harm in it. It wasn’t breaking his rules.

Tyler’s brain was telling him to throw those rules away, but he pushed the impulse away.

Ignoring the flutter of feelings after sex was a test of resolve, and Tyler liked tests. He just needed to prevent himself from falling victim to mushy endorphins. He shoved away from Dean’s body and got dressed. Dean didn’t move but watched him from the chaise lounge.

“That was fun,” Tyler said once his favorite camp shirt was in place. It was an expensive one with pearly buttons and tiny pineapples, bananas, and pomegranates hidden among a folk-art tropical floral. The shirt felt out of place in Alaska, but it was armor for Tyler. He paired it with sweats and his warmest socks.

“I’m glad.” Dean tucked his cock back in and tied his swim trunks, depriving Tyler of the free show. “Are you okay about how it went down? With Sarg leaving so quickly?”

“Yeah. I’m relieved he did. I doubt I could have acted normal with him here.” A sour thought hit Tyler. He sat down heavily on his bed. “Do you wish he’d stayed? For cuddling and stuff afterward?”

Dean took way too long to answer, sending blaring alarm bells through Tyler’s head. Finally, Dean said, “The only person I want to cuddle with is you. I’m very glad he left. I assume he could tell I needed… space.”

“Oh.” Tyler fiddled with the hem of his shirt. “Should I give you space? You’re in my room, though.”

Never mind that it had once beentheirroom.

A slow half smile spread over Dean’s face. Tyler adored that smile. He never saw Dean smile at Rosie and Leo like that. It was as if Dean saved it for him.

“I don’t want space from you.”

“Okay. What do you want?”

Dean languidly stood up from the chaise and advanced on Tyler. When he reached him, he fisted Tyler’s hair and tipped his head back so Tyler was forced to meet his eyes. Tyler grabbed Dean’s sides. He spread his fingers to touch as much of Dean’s skin as possible.

“You don’t want me to tell you what I want,” Dean said, warning in his voice.

That warning sent mixed messages through Tyler’s brain and body. It sounded sexy, but the intent caught up with Tyler before he could press for dirty talk.

Dean wasn’t being flirty, and he wasn’t drawing a boundary. He was abiding byTyler’sboundaries. He was following Tyler’s rules.

What had Dean said that second morning before he’d blown Tyler’s mind? That he would follow Tyler’s rules until Tyler broke them himself?

There was no chance of that. Bad things happened to rule-following overthinkers when they broke the rules.

“I’m sorry,” Tyler murmured. It was hard to talk with Dean staring down at him, his expression so open and pleading. Tyler wasn’t sure what he was apologizing for.

Dean let him go and took a step back. “I’m gonna shower.”
