Yikes.

“Are you okay?” Camden asked. He still sounded strange, like a frog was stuck in his throat.

Camden wasn’t the one who should sound strange. He was the steady one, the solid one between them. At least when it came to sex stuff.

“Of course.”

“Andwe’reokay?”

“Yeah. Why wouldn’t we be?” Theo said, then scrunched up his nose. He was very aware they might have royally fucked everything up. But it wasn’t like Camden was sexually interested in Theo—that would be preposterous—so surely this was fine. Merely a small blip on the large and expansive radar of their friendship.

No biggie.

“No reason, Theo. I’ll let you go,” Camden said gently. He coughed. “If you need, umm, helpagain, just call me.”

Camden hung up before Theo’s brain had fully recovered from those words. Maybe this was more than a small blip. Maybe it could be a handful of blips. At least enough blips for Theo to figure out his way around that gift basket. Until he could go on a date with Hawke with confidence.

While Camden had been spilling dirty commands in his ear, Theo’s mind had been as close to a pleasurable blank slate as he’d ever experienced, and he didn’t want to let go of that yet.

So what if they simply kept doingthis? Theo would call with each new sex toy he pulled out of the basket, and Camden would pretend to be some amazing fantasy man, and then, in person, they’d act how they always acted.

It was not the worst arrangement in the world.

In fact, it was a pretty tempting one.
