“I can sense the care and love in every piece of art in here. You love them all,” she said.

“In different ways, but yes. There’s a lot of love in that book.”

“I’m jealous.”

“Because I’ve—”

“Not because you’ve been with these people. It’s that youseethem. It’s remarkable, the way your feelings come through. I wish someone would look at me like that.” She smiled ruefully. “That sounds pretty pathetic, huh?”

“It doesn’t.”

A hushed silence wrapped around them. They were on the precipice of something dangerous. Rosie wasn’t known for running into danger, but she wanted to sprint straight into whatever this was.

“I could do that,” Leo said. “Give you that.”

“What do you mean?”

“I could draw you. Sketch you. I could do a simple one. All you’d have to do is sit there.”

Her heart started to race. She was a kindergarten teacher. There were a million reasons why she should not pose for a sexy drawing.

She was definitely going to pose for a sexy drawing.

“It would just be between us?”

“Of course. I’ll give you the sketch tonight. It’s yours. And it doesn’t have to be erotic. It could be you lounging there, smiling at me.”

Oh, she wanted it to be erotic, but didn’t know how to say that out loud.

She set his book aside carefully. “Okay.”

He froze, his hands steepled and his mouth slightly open. “For real?”

“Yes.”

He jumped up. “Hold tight. Let me get my sketchpad.”

When he returned, she asked, “What should I do?”

“Why don’t you find a comfortable position?”

She slipped her sandals off. Then she took a deep breath and dragged her top over her head. She’d worn her sluttiest bra for a reason.

Leo dropped his entire sketchpad. “Oh.”

“Is this okay?” Rosie asked, nervousness, excitement, and arousal vying for her attention.

Leo fumbled his charcoal pencil next. “Yeah. Fuck. Better than okay. Are you sure you’re okay with this?”

“Yes.”

“Anything else you want to take off?” he asked, his voice rough and deep.

She’d made his voice sound like that. The power of it lit her up.

“No, I don’t think so.”

“Lie back on the cushions there.”
