Chapter Thirteen
Monday morning arrives, and the echoes of their passionate night at "The Velvet Chain" still resonates Cin Sebastian's mind. However, the harsh light of reality is now upon him as he returns to the outside world.
Sebastian is at his desk, attempting to focus on renegotiating a deal, although his thoughts often stray to the intense night he had shared with Mallory and Lydia.
Just as the clock strikes mid-morning, the elevator dings, announcing an unexpected visitor. Mallory's father, Ted, steps out of the elevator and makes his way to Sebastian's office.
Sebastian glances toward the door, Mallory a few feet away on the other side, his expression one of silent panic. Ted's visit is the last thing he needs, especially after the events of the weekend. Sebastian knows he and Mallory both need to maintain their composure and act as if nothing has changed.
"Sebastian, how are you this fine morning?"
Sebastian stands, shaking Ted's hand firmly. "Ted, it's always great to see you. I'm doing well, thanks."
Ted's eyes twinkle with amusement as he observes his friend. "Sebastian, you seem unusually distracted lately. Is theresomething you're not telling me? I've known you long enough to sense when something's up."
Sebastian's heart races at Ted's words, his mind darting for an appropriate response. "Ted, you know how it is in the business world. There are always ups and downs. But I promise you, everything is under control."
Ted raises an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Well, if you ever need someone to talk to, you know I'm here for you."
Sebastian manages a tight smile. "I appreciate that, Ted. Thanks."
As they continued to discuss business matters, Mallory's father occasionally glances in her direction, a subtle reminder to Sebastian that he was keeping an eye on her well-being. He notices Mallory does her best to appear composed and focused on her work.
Sebastian, too, maintains his professionalism, masking the desire that simmers just beneath the surface. It is a fine line they walk, and every glance, every word, has to be carefully measured.
After a seemingly endless meeting, Ted finally rises to his feet, concluding the visit. "Sebastian, it's been a pleasure as always. I'll leave you to your work."
Sebastian nods, a sense of relief washing over him as Ted makes his exit. Once the door closes, he turns to Mallory, his expression a mixture of relief and longing.
Mallory meets his gaze, her eyes filled with a silent promise of what lies between them outside the confines of the office.
As the workday continues, Sebastian returns to his tasks, his secret desires once again hidden beneath the veneer of professionalism.
As the clock ticks toward the end of the day, Sebastian approaches Mallory's desk. His eyes hold a mixture of longingand restraint, a silent reminder of the passion they had shared just a day before.
"Mallory," he begins, his voice low and intense, "I can't stop thinking about you."
"What if my father is on to us?"
"Why would he be onto us? He has no idea. He just knows I am distracted. He would never think anything is going on between us."
Mallory nods her head, seeming to accept that answer for now.
"I want to spank you," he grits out watching her closely.
"What?" The shock is evident in her eyes as she glances around the office.
It’s only the two of them. It’s only ever between the two of them. Sebastian's company is the floor below. He doesn't share his office with anyone but his personal assistant.
"I keep thinking about how red your ass was while I was fucking you last night."
Her cheeks flush, delighting Sebastian.
"Reach under your skirt and touch yourself, Mallory."
"Here? Now?" She quickly looks around the office again.
