Sam: It was.
Maria: I can’t believe it’s been a year since you approached me in the parking lot.
Sam: Time flies when it’s spent with those you care about.
May 2018
Sam: Did you like that bottle of wine?
Maria: I did. It was delicious. Is it from that winery we used to visit?
Sam: You remember that place?
Maria: Of course I do. I was never allowed to taste test anything because I was 20 and you were 21. That would always bum me out. LOL!
Sam: I was there the other night and ordered it. I thought of you. Thought you might like it. So I bought you a bottle.
Maria: It was a nice surprise to find it resting by my car after work.
Maria: The other night, huh? Adate?
Sam: I was having dinner with a friend. With the weather warming up, we ate out on the patio.
Maria: Well, thank you. I wish I could have shared it with you. It made me think of drinking wine together in your old apartment. Even though, technically, it was against the law for me. Haha.
Sam: Good times.
Sam: But also the past.
Maria: Sorry, I know bringing up that time must be hard.
Sam: I hate thinking about that time.
Maria: I don’t. Because it’s time I spent with you.
July 2018
Maria: I got so sick from the steak salad at lunch yesterday.
Sam: Ugh. I’m so sorry. Now, I’m happy I changed my mind and got the chicken.
Maria: Consider yourself lucky. Being sick and alone sucks. I know you don’t like talking about the past but it did remind me of that night I got the stomach flu senior year when my parents were away for their anniversary. And how you never left my side.
Sam: I remember
Maria: I threw up all over your new Nikes.
Sam: Ha! That’s right. I kinda forgot about that.
Maria: If you were mad, you nevershowed it.
Sam: I could never be mad at you.
Maria: Lord knows I’ve done plenty to make you mad.
Maria: This may be a loaded question but, do you still think about any of it?
Sam: Think about what?
