Yours, Sam
P.S. I gotta ask…why did you wear that to the park today?

Sam,
Of course we can write! I would love that! I miss talking to you. I think one thing that we established today is that, despite everything, we are still great friends. I could use one right now.
And I feel like I need to apologize. The afternoon went so well and then I made it awkward after I used the bathroom. I’m sorry about that.
Anyway, in regards to your question about my outfit … will the same “no questions about our significant other” rule apply here? Because in order to answer your question, I will need to break that rule.
You see, Nate expects certain things from me as his wife. And one of those things is how I look when I leave the house. And that means wearing outfits similar to what you saw me wearing yesterday. And you’re right, that getup wasn’t me. But I need to keep him happy so that our home remains happy. For Brielle.
I know that you probably won’t understand and that’s okay. I made the bed that I have to lie in night after night. I accept it and roll with it.
Anyway, I gotta go for now. I hope you enjoy the rest of the visit with your mom.
Love, Maria

Maria,
So, I hope your vacation went well. The visit with my mom was good. She and Erica spent a lot of time together and I feel like they really got to know one another, which is amazing. It felt so nice to be home, if I’m being honest. Atlanta is great because of Erica and school, but it isn’t home.
I think you and I are old enough now that we can talk about each other’s spouses without it getting weird. Like you said, we are friends and friends talk about each other’s lives.
So on that note, I do have some news to share. Erica shocked the pants off of me yesterday and told me that she thinks she may be pregnant. As soon as we got home, she took a test and, well, it’s positive. I’m going to be a dad! The timing is just crazy. You and I were at the park just a week ago talking about being parents and I’m about to become one myself.
One thing I worry with Erica and this pregnancy is her love of the bottle. She drinks … a lot. I need to keep an eye on the situation. She promised me that she won’t touch a drop when she’s pregnant. But I can’t be with her 24/7.
Anyway, when I read what you wrote about Nate wanting you to dress a certain way, that concerned me, Maria. That sounds controlling. I don’t like it.Why does he care what you wear to take Brielle for a freaking walk? Anyway, Sorry I asked. It’s none of my business, really.
Your, Sam
