His nod was small but steady. He gently tugged the necklace from my grip, holding it out in front of him. Warmth flushed through me despite the chill creeping up my bare legs. I turned around and let him draw it around my neck, fastening it with the clasp, and when I felt the cool metal kiss my skin, I reached up and touched the wolf that sat at the hollow of my throat.
“Beautiful,” Arias murmured, his breath grazing my ear.
“It is,” I agreed.
“No,youare, Dallon. Come to dinner with me tonight?”
I slowly turned around to face him, a smile twitching at the corner of my lips. I cocked my hip, planting a hand there as I looked him up and down. He cleaned up nicely, but I’d’ve rather he been naked, if we were being honest.
I smirked. “I don’t know. I think I’d rather stay close to home.”
His brows jumped up. “I could cook for us?”
“Now you’re talking my language. Say, six o’clock?”
“I’ll be sure to kick Tristram out of the house.” He laughed, the light finally reaching his blue, blue eyes. “See you at six?”
“Sounds perfect,” I told him.
Absolutely perfect.
