“I don’t know if I can do that. Going up that high in the sky scares me more than a little.”

“Do you trust me?”

“Yes, but….”

“My sky cycle is safe. I’ve flown it across the country and back. Not a single one has crashed due to any failure of the vehicle. The only one that crashed was shot down by a hostile.”

She gave him a torn look.

“Falyn…” Max reached for her hand across the table and brought it to his lips. “I’m not going to let anything happen to you. You are the mate I’ve waited my whole life to find.”

She met his gaze steadily, and Max could see her fighting back her fear. “It’s much faster to fly than to hover close to the ground. We could leave after morning chores and be back in time for evening chores.”

“I know that people flew all the time before the war. I read about it in some of our old books and magazines.” She paused, closed her eyes, took a breath, and let it out. Meeting his gaze again, she nodded. “Okay. But I’m still scared.”

Max smiled to himself as he finished the chores. She was scared, but she was still going to fly with him. That made her brave in his eyes.

He heard a sound that made him look up as he strolled back to the house with the egg basket. Falyn was standing on the back porch wearing only a thin, cream-colored robe and nothing else. It gapped open to the belt at her waist in a deep vee.

Max went hard almost immediately.

Falyn stepped onto the porch to see Max strolling toward the house as though he hadn’t a care in the world. She was sure he’d gone to do chores when she awoke alone in bed. During the war, cyborgs went weeks at a time without sleep, sometimes longer. So, when he woke early, he did morning chores.

Ever since he arrived in the middle of her life, she had yearned to fuck him. She didn’t know whether she was making up for lost time; or if the pheromones fueled her desire.

Falyn had started meeting him as he returned from chores wearing only the thin robe and nothing else. She thought nothing of stepping outside dressed like that because it had been years since anyone approached her house.

His dark, smoldering look told her she would get what she wanted. He stalked up the four steps and set the basket of eggs on the little table beside the back door. Falyn stared up at him as he backed her against the wall.

She knew he could scent her arousal as she stared up at him, mesmerized. Pushing the sides of her robe further apart, he plucked at her taut nipples, then kneaded her breasts.

Max lifted her up, pressing her against the wall, leaning into her. Falyn wrapped her arms and legs around him, still holding his gaze.

“Max.” She whispered his name just before he claimed her lips in a deep, sensual kiss. He slid his hands between them, using his body to balance her against the wall, and flicked his thumbs back and forth over her nipples until she was moaning and squirming.

Still kissing her, he ripped open the hook-loop closure on his cargo pants and let them drop. He gripped her buttocks and found her opening, sliding his cock into her wet heat.

Falyn groaned at the exquisite pleasure his filling her with his cock brought her.

“Is this what you want?” Max asked in a sexy growl as he broke from the kiss, thrusting hard into her.

“Y-yes,” her breath hitched at the profound pleasure as he hit all the right spots. Then his mouth was on hers again as he drove his cock into her hard and deep.

Soon he was pounding into her while Falyn clung to his shoulders. Max was careful to hold her, so she didn’t slam into the wall while he fucked her. She cried out with the first two orgasms and screamed on the third when Max found his.

“Mm, Max, you are so good!” she laughed softly, caressing his face. He may have been shy in the beginning, but not anymore. As she kissed and ran her hands over him, she realized how happy she was to have him in her life.

Chapter Fifteen

By the time they’d showered and eaten breakfast, it was almost midday. They’d found a plastic box that fit atop the cargo compartment to carry the vegetables Falyn insisted on taking to town.

Max didn’t mind indulging her. He adored her and would do anything he could to make her happy. While they enjoyed powerful sexual chemistry, he also enjoyed just being with her in the moment.

Falyn’s nervousness about flying for the first time in her life was evident, yet she appeared determined to conquer her fear. The fifteen miles to town would be a five-minute flight. At varying speeds with stretches of rough terrain, riding Angus would take at least a couple hours, and they didn’t have a horse that could carry a cyborg’s weight for Max.

He would easily keep up on foot, but it wasn’t the same. Max was seriously thinking about getting a horse after discussing it with Captain Blaze Savage. The head of the cyborg ranger team found he enjoyed the kinship he’d found with his own horse. So, Max made inquiries over the AI net to find a large, strong draft horse.

Meanwhile, he directed Falyn to sit on the passenger seat, then swung his leg over the handlebar to sit in the driver’s seat. Falyn was only too happy to wrap her arms around Max and hold him tightly, her cheek pressed to his broad back as he sent his bike into a vertical ascent.
