She had known from the beginning that there would be times that Stalker would need to work alone. Her armor had a night vision filter, but Stalker’s night vision was better.
“When will you go?” she asked between kisses.
“Tomorrow at sunset. We won’t go to the city during the day.”
Neely was about to say something else, but Stalker no longer seemed interested in conversation as he kissed her lightly before claiming her lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
Kissing her, he untucked her t-shirt from her cargo pants to slide his hands up underneath to knead her breasts and tease her nipples. She made kitten sounds in her throat, letting him know she liked the way he was touching her.
She could feel his erection under her bottom as they kissed. “I feel your arousal,” she whispered when their lips parted. “Do you wish to breed?”
“Would that please you?” he asked.
“Very much,” she said, caressing his cheek.
Stalker slid his arm under her legs and lifted her as he stood. Pinging the cleaning droid to clear the table, he carried her to their bedroom.
He stripped them both naked in seconds, following Neely into bed, taking her into his arms to prelude breeding.
Neely was everything to him. He had waited his whole life to finally be with her. When he made love to her, he savored their intimacy. He kissed and caressed and fucked her with careful attention to her pleasure. He knew ecstasy when he was inside her, pouring his seed into her.
All he had done and endured had brought him to loveher…
Chapter Sixteen
Neely had put on a brave face after he kissed her before leaving for Los Angeles, though he knew she didn’t want him to go. Leaving her was hard. They had been nearly inseparable for almost two months. Stalker was virtually certain she loved him.
It was in her eyes… how she kissed him and smiled at him. There was tenderness in the way she touched him and pleasured him.
Sometimes, since she became his mate, he wished he didn’t have this enormous job of bringing law and order back to this great city. Fortunately, help was on the way. As he approached the city, he realized he was looking forward to stalking again.
He morphed the sky cycle back into its hover bike form and landed by the same abandoned building to stash it. He programmed his armor to a dark matte gray and got off the bike. He hadn’t brought his ion rifle because he could move more freely without it.
He had two blaster pistols, various knives, and a shock stick that could be used as a baton or shock an assailant unconscious. In reality, Stalker probably needed no weapons at all to defend himself.
With his hover cycle safely stowed and cloaked, Stalker went out into the night. Staying in the shadows of tattered buildings, he ran, his footfalls barely making a sound.
When he got to Vradin Blackwood’s place of business, Blackwood and another man were coming out of the building. Stalker stopped and hid in the dark doorway in a wall where the rest of the building was a pile of rubble.
“Now that we have a full load, when will we ship them?” the man asked Blackwood.
“I should have the date once they’ve approved the merchandise,” said Blackwood. “I just transmitted the data and the pictures this afternoon.”
“I think Larry is bringing in a couple more kids from up north, probably tomorrow.”
“That’s good. The Mesaarkans like them young. They make better pets. Is Sam taking good care of them? They don’t take sick ones.”
“He scanned them, and the alien medic approved them all, but one of the females is pregnant. Sam didn’t think she knew yet.”
“They’ll take her anyway. They can still fuck her.”
“Ugh! I almost feel sorry for them. Those Mesaarkan lizards are ugly.”
“I don’t. They are just human trash, and they will never be anything but scavengers. If they don’t die fighting for scraps of food, they’ll die fighting over a female.”
“I know, but thinking about them fucking a human woman creeps me out.”
Stalker let them get further away before he followed them. This was even worse than he imagined. Human trafficking to the Mesaarkans was an abomination. There were anecdotal instances of the aliens taking humans on the worlds they raided, but no hard evidence.
