It was only partly the drug; it was almost like he had tripped a switch inside of her that turned her from a sensible young woman who wanted a husband and family into a horny slut who couldn’t get enough sex. From the moment they shoved her into that unfurnished cell on the transport ship, none of this was going as she planned when she signed up to become an alien bride. She thought that sex would probably come a day are two after she got there, and they had some time to get acquainted and bond emotionally first.

Then again, being closed in that tiny cell for what must have been months might have made her a little crazy. So far, she liked Tomak, but she didn’t really know him. He was a black ops soldier for star’s sake. He seemed nice now, probably because he was getting laid. She knew nothing else about him; he could have another side that would come out later if she displeased him.

They had barely had a conversation, but something told her it was more than just getting laid for him. He believed she was his fated mate if the way he looked at her meant anything. She wanted to believe it did. Seeing how easily Tomak dispatched his rivals in the hunt, it seemed like he was a good man to have on her side.

Finally, she got up because she needed to use the bathroom. When she finished, she decided she needed a shower. It took her a short span to figure out how to start it, but she didn’t find any towels. Rechecking the controls, she realized it had a dry cycle as well.

She emerged from the bathroom clean and dry and naked. Tomak caught her by her upper arms before she smacked right into him. Angie gasped in surprise.

“Hey, beautiful,” he said and gave her a sexy grin.

“I took a shower, but I don’t have any clean clothes,” she said.

“You don’t need any, right now. An autocart should be delivering your allotment any time now.”

As she looked up into his eyes, the heat in his gaze left little doubt where he was going with that.

“When I finish in there, we’ll get something to eat and drink from the processor, and I’ll show you how to work it.”

Angie nodded, stepping aside so he could enter the bathroom. She padded over to the small table with two seats attached to it near what she guessed was the food processor. Eating was good. Maybe they could have a conversation before they got back to having more sex.

Taking a seat at the table, she realized that she still wanted him, but it wasn’t the same as before. She was feeling a little light-headed, and her mouth was dry. She attributed it to being drugged. But why drug her?

Probably to make sure they copulated sooner than later. Or maybe they never stopped recording when they left the hunt. She started looking around the room, examining the walls and ceiling for a hidden camera. Just because she didn’t see one didn’t mean it wasn’t there. Cameras could be smaller than a flyspeck.

What did she expect? There were probably cameras everywhere. It was a prison after all. What a nightmare! She only wished there was a way to get word back to Earth what Many Worlds Matchmaking was doing to people who signed up.

The amount of time Tomak was gone, Angie assumed he had a shower too. She couldn’t help staring when he came out and strolled toward her. Almost every muscle was finely defined from his washboard abs to his arms, legs, and chest. Even flaccid, his cock was impressive.

The ripple of desire that fluttered through her body reassured her that it wasn’t just the drug that made her want him. The man oozed sexiness. The way he smiled at her made her sure he knew it.

“Come here,” he spoke as a request as he came to stand by the food processor, extending his hand to her.

She put her hand in his, getting up, and allowed him to pull her into his arms for a long, slow kiss. By the time he lifted his lips from hers, her whole body had clamored for more. From the press of his hard cock against her belly, his reaction to the embrace was like hers.

“Yeah.” He smiled a touch ruefully. “That wasn’t such a good idea, but I sure enjoyed it.”

“Me, too,” Angie admitted, then her stomach growled. “But I haven’t eaten since first meal yesterday. I only drank the water they gave us before the hunt.”

“That’s how they drugged you.” Tomak released her from his embrace reluctantly. “Here, let me show you how this works. The general population eats in the mess. We don’t have to. None of the fighters do, but not all of them have females.”

Tomak went on to explain the commands and choices. Few of the food items were familiar to Angie, but he assured her most of them were palatable but basic. She let him choose what he usually ate for first meal; protein patties, multigrain wafers, and a mixed fruit drink. He took two patties for himself and one for Angie to try.

“So, tell me what made you sign up to become an alien bride,” he said after they sat down at the table with their food.

“Do you know anything about Earth?”

“Only that it’s the world where humans originated.”

“Yes, and now there are way too many of us for the world to support. The air is polluted, food is scarce with little variety. It took every credit I could earn to buy food and have a one-room flat half the size of yours.”

“I was a biomedical technician repairing and refurbishing medical equipment. Our company was bought out, and they cut fifty percent of the employees when the new company took over. I lost my job, which meant I would be homeless.”

“I wouldn’t be allowed to reproduce, and once I was classified as indigent, there was no chance I would ever find a husband in a world where there were more women than men.”

“You must be very brave to take a chance on a male you never met and travel to another world to be with him,” Tomak said, taking a bite of his protein patty.
