She huffs out a laugh. “Oh, please. Get off your high horse, you aren’t any better.”

I flinch. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

Gabby’s face slowly turns into a vicious smirk. “Tyler told me what you did to Emerson. That’s pretty fucked up if you ask me.”

Oh. My. God.

How could he?

Tyler stalks back out of the kitchen, his phone to his ear. “Fine. Hurry,” he says to whoever is on the other end before hanging up and holding out a bag of frozen peas to me. “Here, put this on your face.”

“How could you tell her about the bet?” I snatch the bag and press it to the bridge of my nose. It stings and burns all at once, the centre of my face now thumping with a pulse of its own.

“Not so innocent now, are you?” Gabby sneers at me, her painted-on lips spasming as she does.

“That’s enough, for fuck’s sake.” Tyler’s chest is heaving as he shoves his hands through his hair. “Both of you, enough.”

“She supplied Emerson drugs, Ty. And aborted Will’s baby. I should call the police.” I spit the words at her, not caring if I piss Tyler off.

He’s more than happy to spill all our secrets, it seems.

Tyler’s eyes widen, as Gabby’s face pales. “What the fuck, Edie? Seriously?” Tyler eyes me, jaw clenched.

“What?” I throw my free hand up. “You told her about the bet.”

“How could you, Tyler?” Gabby slaps him in the chest. “How could you tell her?” She pins me with her dark, scolding eyes.

At least now she knows what it feels like. Pretty sure we’re even.

Tyler sighs. “I didn’t,” he says, clearing his throat. “I told Will, and Eden must have overheard.”

Tears fall down Gabby’s pink cheeks, her entire body deflating. “Great. Some friend you are.” Her head falls into her hands, and she sobs. “He’ll never forgive me.”

Tyler grabs Gabby around the shoulders and wraps her in his arms. “I’ve got you, Gabs. He’ll come around. I promise.”

Seriously? They’re the fakest tears I’ve ever seen. My mother was also good at acting, so I won’t fall for it again.

“She’s got you fooled, doesn’t she, Ty?” I pull the bag of frozen peas from my face and throw them on the coffee table in the corner of the room.

Both their gazes fix on me this time, but no-one has a chance to say anything when Will barges through the front door, theenergy in the room shifting as his hulking frame steps up beside me.

“Goddamn it, Eden,” he says, grabbing my upper arms and shaking me. “I told you to stay away fr— Jesus fucking Christ.” He grabs my chin, tilting my head from side to side as he inspects my nose. “Who did this?”

I snap my head to the side to pull out of his grip. “It’s fine,” I say, avoiding his eyes. “Leave me alone.”

“Will?” Gabby says, taking a step towards him, and pulling his attention from me. “Can we talk?” Her bloodshot eyes search his face as she clutches her stomach.

Will rubs his eyes. “Not now, Gab?—”

“Please?” More tears.

What a fucking manipulator. Surely Will won’t fall for her shit like Tyler.

“Fine,” he says, before pinning me to the spot with his heated glare. “Do as you’re told and stay here. I’ll be back.”

“You can’t be serious?” I say, grabbing his hand.

Will’s nostrils flare as he turns his head ever so slowly to glance over his shoulder. “Let go, Eden. Now.”
