“Okay, time to go.” Pulling him by his shirt again, I yank him to the door.
“Seriously? Dirty Polaroids?” Beck has this coat-hanger smile on his face. “Fuck, you guys, mad respect.”
And with that I push him out into the hallway and swing the door shut.
Turning back, Callie’s already got her arms crossed. She’s got to be pissed—I’m pissed at me. “Alright, let me have it.”
But she doesn’t yell or get upset, she laughs. Her arms come uncrossed and she laughs. “I would have bet so much money that I was going to get us busted first.”
I pull her chuckling butt to me by the belt on her robe. “You’re not mad?”
“I was a little bit when I woke up to Beck’s laugh. But it was good to at least get an idea of what we’re working with, and it was just Beck. I don’t think he’ll tell anyone.” She giggles some more, but then wraps her arms around my shoulders. “Really, you just answered my door? I was lying right next to you. If I fucked your brains out last night Anderson, it’s okay, you can admit it.”
“Woman.” I pick her up and toss her back on the bed. Crawling on top of her, she wraps her legs around my waist. “You didn’t even hear the knocking. I fucked the consciousness out of you.”
Callie hums with a smirk on her pretty lips. “Are the pictures as hot as I remember?”
I reach over to the nightstand and hand the stack to her. “Why don’t you look through them?” I slide down her body and pull the knot of her robe loose. “And please describe them to me in heavy detail.”
“Hmm, and where are you going?” Callie’s voice might sound coy but the little minx moves her legs, spreading them for me already.
“I’m going to have my breakfast.” I kiss down to her hip before both of our alarms go off. Both of us groan and curse at the same time.
“I’m going to kill Beck. Fucker waisted valuable time this morning,” I mutter after we both turn off our alarms.
Callie laughs before rolling off the bed. “You answered the door, Will! The one time I have a locked door and you answer it!”
“We might not have a ton of time, but I’ll still bend your smart mouth over.”
Callie leans over and places the dirty Polaroids on my chest. “You love my smart mouth. Now I have to get ready to go take pictures of you all day, but, unfortunately, they won’t be as hot as these.”
Chapter 33
Callie
“So how was your day off?” Adam asks the moment I slide into the back of the car he had waiting for us.
“It was…”Mind blowing. Life altering.“Great. It was nice to have a day off before games start.”
It took quite the amount of self-restraint to not pull Will back into my hotel room the moment his foot stepped out of the door. The interruption this morning might not have been a part of our plan, but there is now a bright side—we have a little hope.
At first, when I heard Beck at the door, I assumed the worst and expected Will would want us to call it quits. But when he agreed that we’d make it work, I was beyond relieved. All the unknowns are still really daunting when I think about them too much, but Will and I can keep it professional. We can stay out of drama. We have to.
After buckling and getting settled I realize that Adam’s in his uniform. “Hey, I haven’t gotten to see the uniforms in person yet! These are nice!”
I looked at a million pictures with Shannon, and I hate to say it, but she picked out a good jersey. It’s white with royal bluepinstripes. “Blues” is written across the front, and on their hats have the bird logo on the side.
Adam looks down at the jersey. “Yeah, I figured I’d just put it on now. I brought some clothes for a workout after, if I have time. So, you may have to get a ride back with one of the other players if that’s okay?”
“Oh yeah.”Cool, calm, and collected, Callie.“I don’t mind.”
“I would ask Will, but when I asked if he needed a ride this morning, he said he was taking his bike. The guy bought a brand new motorcycle, out of nowhere.”
It’s a little odd to me that Adam’s so shocked by this. I mean, yeah, I guess it was a little extravagant, but they are million dollar athletes.
“He’s an adult, Adam. I think he knows how to handle his finances.”
“I know he does. What I’m saying is it’s just out of character for him. I mean, he bought that one when he first signed with the Mavs, but he’s never mentioned buying another. He’s going to have to get it transferred back to Boston. Just seems like such a hassle.”
