I slowly wiggled free from his hold without disturbing him. When I reached the end of the bed and stood, Fox opened his eyes and stared at me. I glanced at Anson and then back to him, hoping he understood I wanted to go before there was some weird, awkward morning after. He seemed to get it because he carefully got out of bed and grabbed his jeans.

Wanting to leave before Anson woke, I quickly changed out of his sweatpants and put my skirt back on, then came out to meet Fox at the end of the bed. He checked Anson again and led me out of his apartment without a word. Neither of us spoke until we were in my car and heading back to the house.

“Fox?”

“I told the guys he was wasted, and I didn’t want to leave him in case his ass died,” Fox answered, glancing over at me as he drove my car. “And to answer your next question, Enzo wasn’t happy, but he agreed and said not to fuck you in front of him again. Cole raged. E said if we needed him, we could call, and he’d come help.”

I nodded and licked my lips. “About sleeping with him?—”

“It didn’t happen. We slept on the couch.” He shot me a pointed look.

“I don’t want to lie?—”

“Rosalie, please. I understand the entire situation was weird and fucked, but it happened. Nothing happened past some sleeping. I agreed to it, so no harm, no foul. He didn’t try for anything, right?”

I shook my head. “No. He fell asleep.”

Fox nodded. “So it’s fine. It was only sleeping. I think Enzo and E would let something like that go. You know how Cole is. I don’t want more fighting. That shit won’t happen again. Thenext time he gets shitfaced and fucks some chick in a bathroom stall and pisses her off, he’s on his own, OK? Our lives are dicked up enough as it is without adding more to it.”

“What if he’d have tried for more?” I whispered, looking over at him.

Fox didn’t look at me as he answered. “I honestly don’t know. It didn’t happen, so we don’t need to dwell on it.”

We both grew quiet. He finally spoke again after several long minutes.

“I’d have been OK with it.”

“What?” I looked over at him.

“You and Anson. I’d have been OK with it. But it can’t happen unless all the guys are good with it.”

“I’d never?—”

“Rosie, baby, I know you would never do that without all of us on board with it. Maybe someday, that’ll change. I definitely don’t guarantee it, but the possibility is there.”

I said nothing and opted to look out the window. I honestly didn’t know what to think. I was so angry and hurt by Anson’s recent actions, but I also knew he thought stepping back was doing us a favor.

It was still a lonely life without him. I had the guys, and I loved them, but Anson added something extra to everything.

Pushing the thought away, I stared out the window until I couldn’t take it any longer.

“I’m going to tell Enzo we slept in the same bed as him.”

“Rosalie,” he warned. “I thought we were over having fights. You know that will set him off. And Cole? For fuck’s sake, let it go.”

I shrugged. “I don’t want to keep secrets from him or any of the guys.”

“I highly recommend keeping this one.”

I said nothing, going back to stare out the window.

When we got home, we went inside. It was still really early, but Enzo was sitting up waiting for us in the living room. Immediately, he was on his feet and dragging me into his arms.

“Thank god you’re home. I worried about you guys,” he said, kissing my temple fiercely.

“It was fine. He probably won’t even remember half the shit he said or did last night,” Fox said, going to the loveseat to sit. Enzo led me back to the couch, pulled me down on his lap, and held me.

“Tell me everything,” Enzo said at once.
