“Uh-uh,” Mailliard said, holding up Lowen’s limp body with one hand and gun in the other.“I can put a bullet in her brain right now.”

“You do that, I’ll kill you, and I don’t think you want to be dead.”

“How about I heavily wound her?”

Evren took one step closer.“Why do you even want her? She’s nothing to you.Let her go, and I’ll make sure you walk out of here alive.”

He had no intention of doing that, but the asshole didn’t need to know that. One of her eyes opened, but Evren made sure he didn’t reveal that little tidbit.

“I paid for her virginity,” Scias said.“She’s mine.”

“Hate to break it to you, but that ship has sailed,” he smirked.

Anger and hatred vied for dominance on his face.“I figured. That’s why I killed her father for a bill of sale he failed to produce.”

“Well, that saves me the trouble,” Evren stated.“Let.Her.Go.”

Suddenly, Lowen grabbed Scias’s junk and twisted.Pain distorted his face, and he dropped her. Before Evren could shoot him, Lowen grabbed the gun out of Scias’s hand and aimed the barrel at his head.

“You wouldn’t dare,” he hissed, cradling his junk.“I bet you don’t even know how to shoot that thing.”

“How hard is it to aim and pull the trigger?”she said coldly.“I’m not helpless anymore.”

Whatever Scias saw on her face made him go deathly pale. Then, just as she said, she pulled the trigger, and in an instant, the asshole was gone. Then she lowered the gun and ran over to Evren.Making sure there were no mishaps, he took the weapon from her and slipped the safety on before sticking it in a pocket.Their arms went around each other and he closed his eyes to breathe in her scent.

“I was so afraid I’d lose you,” he murmured.

“You came for me,” she breathed.

He pulled back slightly to cup her face.“Of course I did.I will always come for you because I love you.”

“I love you, too,” she said.

The gentle kiss he placed on her lips touched his soul, and he vowed to always cherish her.She was his, and he was hers.

“Aw, I missed the fun.”

Both turned to see Saxon standing there, lower lip pushed in a pout.

“I see the bastard is dead,” Jeremiah murmured as he walked to the corpse.“Good job, Ev.”

“Wasn’t me.”

Both of them raised eyebrows.Jeremiah looked impressed while Saxon had to adjust his hard-on in his black cargo pants.

Evren rolled his eyes.“What are we gonna do with the bodies?”

“Leave it to me,” Saxon said.

Jeremiah looked around the warehouse.“I think I just inherited a shit-ton of machines for our mining endeavor.”
